Happens both sides of the isle...preaching family values or not. Stay off the booze and true to your wife and family...less drama in your life...politician or not.

This is sort of like a ball game. First one side scores, then the other. It was time for a Republican to score since it's been mostly Democrats lately.

The point is, these conservatives are hypocrites. They preach family and moral values to others and sometimes want to change the law to their liking, yet they are the ones breaking the law and cheating on their wives or humping other men in private. So when I hear you holier than thou folks preaching your bible bullshit, I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't actually follow your own advice because the trends show you probably don't. And I don't like being preached to by a bunch of fucking hypocrites.

Yeah, we all know how unhypocritical Bill Clinton was, whilst wagging his finger at all Americans and lying about his perjury.

But Clinton didn't preach to people that they shouldn't cheat on their wife. THAT'S the difference!

And I've been called "holier than thou"?

DON'T YOU SEE THAT YOU ARE YELLING TO YOURSELF!

"The point is, these conservatives are hypocrites."

Vitalogy, reality just doesn't register with you does it. Does the name Elliot Sptizer mean anything to you? Aggressively prosecuted people for prostitution then got caught doing what he prosecuted others for. I'll take hypocritical preaching over hypocritical prosecution any day.

While Nixon turned YELLA and ran away with his tail between his legs. That action hurt America FOREVER!

Deane makes an excellent point about Eliot Spitzer. He made a fool of himself and the Democratic Party in New York. His arrogance coupled with very poor judgment made him look absurd and he got his just desserts. But as a rule, the Republicans have set themselves up for a huge fall. When your whole bill of goods is “family values”, you had better make certain that your caucus is behaving itself. From Newt Gingrich to Mark Foley, the Republicans have really dropped the ball in the morals area. Falling hard and fast can easily transcend party and know no boundaries, but when you play the righteous card like the Republicans have for so long and then you get caught with your pants down, it’s going to bite you in the ass.

They have the biggest list of "do as I say and not as I do party members" I believe this puts Republicans, as a general party, into the safe category where coarse characterizations, like "hypocrites" is concerned.

Bitten big time. Both cheeks, repeatedly.

Time enough to drop the numbers and let the remaining, ideally good ones, rebuild for our own good.

There was also that one guy who while married was having courting and later having an affair with a beautiful and rich woman some 18 years younger than himself. Oh, what was his name? Oh, yeah, it was John McCain.

Booemdono, it's very refreshing to know that no Democrat is guilty of every having done anything like this.

So then if that bothers you so much, then don't vote for the guy who did that. Isn't that the point?; Quit rewarding the hypocrites. Elect people who aren't hypocrites. Otherwise, you get what you get. And here you are, knowing exactly what he has done ( as opposed to it coming out after ) and you still will vote for McCain because, well, being a hypocrite doesn't bother you as much as you pretend it does.

From Romans 3

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are...

We're all human with a sin nature. We all need God's help in keeping us from making bad choices in life...to make right choices...righteous living. Sure Christians/family values people are not perfect but can be redeemed back to God/forgiven.
