A teenager was killed after a fall from one of the towers at the transmitter site of ENTERCOM Talk KMBZ-A/KANSAS CITY.

TREVOR L. HACKL, 17, a student at SHAWNEE MISSION NORTH HIGH SCHOOL, was apparently trespassing when he fell from the shorter of the station's two towers at 50th Street and Belinder Avenue in the WESTWOOD area of KANSAS CITY on SATURDAY (5/17). HACKL's body was discovered SATURDAY morning at the site.

I wonder what his blood test showed at autopsy, and there must have been an autopsy.

I notice you left out the part about his other escapades. This sounded like someone that no one would want to know. I feel bad for his family.

On the other hand I can remember working for at least 2 AM stations that didnt have squat for barrier or perimeter security. "Danger High Voltage " and "No trespassing" signs were about it.

I think the autopsy would show he fell, maybe?

I'm no CSI, but I'd guess that it wasn't the fall that killed him. It was that darn landing.

We've been dealing the problem of tower climbers here at KBPS for decades! We have 8 foot high tight mesh, unclimbable fencing topped with barbed wire. There is a steel cage around the tower at about the 12 foot level to prevent access from below. All access to the nearby roof adjacent to the tower has been eliminated. Its posted with signs saying danger high voltage and no tresspassing...Yet again this year someone from the graduating class climbed up and put a flag on the top of the tower. I even circulated the Kansas City tower death clipping in hopes it would scare them off this year, but it didn't. Any reasonable suggestions on additional steps we can do are appreciated.

What about a motion sensing outdoor webcam with email alert capabilities.

You would get an email warning and you could then login via a web browser to see live action video and with a pan tilt zoom unit you can easily scan to see who is on the property.

What would high-power RF due to a person anyway?

Did anyone see the 60 minutes piece couple of weeks ago of a Army device on a big truck with a hugh micro-wave dish that could shoot 100kw if RF over a quarter of a mile...it would "burn" people only when "shot at" but not harm them...could be used in all kinds of applications...need the hand ray gun version invented and the security round the building version too...someone make,market, and get rich.

Splatter red paint at the foot of one of the tower legs.

And hang a pair or two of Rocky Mountain Oysters at eye level!

A couple of skunks roaming the fenced in area might do the trick.
