This guy is an old nut-bag. He's the future of the Republican party.

We have these discussions with the idea that McCain is actually a viable choice.

That burden has not been met.

The Republican Party as it now stands has no "future."

Between their upcoming drowning in 2008 and the next mid-term election they are going to have to re-birth themselves. Since the game in Washington is going to change, all the GOP leverage with the big corporations and lobbies that serve them will be greatly compromised. Anticipating large successes by the Obama administration over the first term, I expect nothing more than a lot of whining from the right and the rich. But that's all they are capable of doing anyway. Tell me, what good has GOP leadership in Congress done between '94 and '06? Finished the decimation of broadcasting started by Pimp Reagan, that's one thing for sure. Lifted any reason whatsoever and given in fact incentives for the outsourcing of millions of jobs overseas. Given huge tax breaks on income for the wealthiest Americans. Then there's the shrub '00 - '08. Iraq. nuff said. The war in Iraq is the fulcrum of many of todays issues at home. Many of us knew Iraq was a doomed venture. Fortunately, the corner will soon be turned.

Add this all up. It doesn't take algebra to solve this dilemma.

I've been reading the recent threads and I certainly do detect a lot of frenetic responses from out conservative colleagues. It is interesting that the conservative Democrats are about to win a huge victory over their Republican counterparts. Nothing could be sweeter. The liberal, centrist and conservative Democrats in combination with the liberal Republicans are just fed up with right wing driven failures of government management. I have no sympathy for the right wing. They got their chance these last 8 years, and they have failed miserably. Economically, socially, domestically, internationally, politically and environmentally.

Wouldn't it be GREAT to see The Republican regain the good things they try and hold to? I mean, there are plenty of them. But they are so used to fighting dirty and in secret while being textbook examples of hypocrites and lost in the wilderness.

Seriously though, how awesome would it be to have the kind of candidate in a Republican that we have in a Democrat? That would be a shining moment for The Unuted States. Id recognize it without any need to be told.

Good luck in 2024. Sincerely. The Democrats won't hold power forever. You blew your shot, it's our turn now.
