I'm not sure why he waited so long though.

I am glad John Edwards has discovered what his own base found out for themselves months and months ago: Only one candidate in this once broad field has had any concrete experience in the trenches with the working poor. Only one candidate has any tangible connection to the day to day struggles of Americans.

Waiting until his poverty platform was drowned out by an endless primary season did John more harm than good. Even though the economy is tanking, he has lost his voice in the crowd. Until Obama is the nominee, Edwards is gonna have to yell even louder to get his message out. It is too bad he thought that politics as usual would be the best approach in this election season.

Oh well, better late than never.
