No, that would be the case if I pulled a Clinton and talked about how I felt Mr. Nader's pain.

Yes, you are a fraud Herb. If you think Clinton is a fraud, that's your opinion. However, it doesn't mean you are not a fraud as well, does it? So are you going to throw a bunch of cash Ralph Nader's way tonight or not?

"Yes, you are a fraud Herb."

Classic leftist perspective.

Hey, just a few short years ago, Mr. Nader was the darling of the liberal elite.

In the world of democrat politics, it's fine to sign off on a pro-death platform that includes euthanasia and abortion.

But support someone with whom the left disagrees and they'll dissect that support all day long.

The real fraud is the liberal giving a pass to those who get paid to snuff out the innocent.

It's a true badge of honour to be called names by such a twisted tribe of syncophants. I would be seriously concerned if such hardcore leftists ever agreed with me.

The real fraud is the pro-life movement. Nothing stands out so alarmingly as pro-life hypocrites. They speak of defending life, but to the exclusion of the living. They’ve made the decision that the only life worth defending is the unborn. But once a child is born, they’re disposable. It’s survival of the fittest. But I don’t think even Charles Darwin would have been so callous.

Yes it is. They've dishonored children everywhere by turning their backs on the most vulnerable. They're more interested in securing political power than caring for the vulnerable among us.

Another pithy Herbism, full of hot air and zero substance. The right to life community, like the Emperor, has no clothes.

Prove children are disposal, just look at how the Christian right in this country treats children. They align themselves with a political movement that holds the poor in contempt, dismantles programs designed to help children in need, refuses to pay for medical care for poor children, endorses an administration that has murdered thousands of children in Iraq... What more do you need?

I don't post here all that often, but I am wondering how many threads end up talking about abortion.

The way to stop it of course, is to not respond to attempts to hijack the thread. Herb hijacked his own thread. Unreal.

Nader is old news. Nobody really cares and this election will see that play out. IMHO, both him and that other Barr clown will likely really put a dent in McCain, more than anything else.

"...just look at how the Christian right in this country treats children..."

Nice try.

Given that the majority of tax-paying Americans describe themselves as Christian, it's Christians who are indeed funding the needy children among us...so that's how Christians treat kids.

You need new material. Recycling scare America talking points clearly is not working for you.

The GOP has said they will cut discretionary spending. Guess what, discretionary spending is what helps out the poor children via food stamps, housing assistance, medical coverage, etc. The GOP has repeatedly cut these services in order to fund the military, and will continue to do so until they are removed for office. So to say the GOP cares about needy children is a lie. They don't, and their past performance proves it.

Well Broadway, if you read a newspaper, you’d see that the federal government has made deep cuts in discretionary domestic spending – you know money set aside to help the poor, children, et cetra. And in relative terms, it’s a very small portion of the federal budget. Just check with the Congressional Budget Office, they can provide you with the details. This was done to pay for the George W. Bush’s billionaire economic stimulus package in addition to out of control increases in defense spending. And too, what would be the more Christian thing to do, spend $12 billion dollars a month on a war half way around the world for a worthless cause or take even a small portion of the money and invest it children and families? Again, what is the more Christian thing to do?

I think I’ve seen it all. Herb makes it sound like he supports programs designed to help poor and needy children – in part with his federal tax dollars. Nice try Herb. Given 7 years of George W. Bush and six years with Republicans in control of Congress (and evangelical Christians part and parcel of the Republican base), their only real goals were to cut taxes on the very wealthy, dismantle programs for children and the poor, gut Social Security and fund the war in Iraq. So to take credit for programs enacted by Democrats and call it Christian larges is really disingenuous.

>>You never know what kind of dirty old men you'll find lurking at your local church youth group.

but if the old godjers aren't there the kids just might find God! Come on, there are hundreds of thousands of churches in American having several meetings/services weekly. This is a bad thing when an adult abuses any child especially in a church setting and needs to be prosecuted to the max but this is a rare occurence in the Evangelical church. It's been a long established fact that child abuse is by someone the child knows...mostly a family member.
