Well, probably yesterday. We are busy trying to move and do baseball, so I don't always look at that mail right now.

So, Voter Guide & Ballot on the desk, it's time to go through all the choices! You guys see yours yet?

There are some I'm not going to want to talk about, largely because the choice is made.

(GO OBAMA)

Others though, I've no idea! This is why I love VBM. It's not a forced, just choose RIGHT NOW, kind of thing. There is time to take each unknown / undecided thing and reach a decision, record it, then move to the next.

Who woulda thunk it?

Baseball coming up, double header today. More later.

He probably would have supported the GOP, so I'm okay with it. The less stupid voters, the better for America.

Honestly, if you were a Republican voting in Oregon, what would you have to be excited about? There are no competitive races in any major offices; the GOP has no candidates at all in some races where there are tight Democratic races (Attorney General for example). And especially if a Republican doesn't like McCain, I can quite understand a voter's frustration and tear up a ballot.

There are 3 measures on the ballot. Vern, are you gonna let drug pushers keep their loot after being busted? Better dig that ballot out or be quiet on the politics side.

Hey, I wonder if a taped up ballot still counts?

I went no, no, and no on the three measures. I'm sick and tired of them imbedding legislative issues in the state constitution. I can't speak to the merits of the measures.

I can go to the courthouse and request a replacement ballot, even on election day. Don't get so balistic over it!

It's cool.

Was just wondering.

Looks like Obama did well tonight. Clinton canceled public appearances tomorrow.

Could we be seeing general election mode starting?

edselehr & Vern,

Measure #53 should have a yes vote because it fixes a legal fumble by the attorney who wrote ballot measure 3 which prevented the law from seizing property before a conviction -- however, there were unseen consequences -- such as convicted drug dealers keeping their profits and delayed abused animals from being adopted. This measure fixes such loopholes.

kskd,

I shudder at the thought of a critical race being decided by a taped up ballot. The voter's intent here was obvious -- until some LIBERAL changed that voter's mind! :-)

I voted no on these as well for the same reason.

Also seeing that Kevin Mannix endorsed 51 & 52 sealed the deal on those.

Eight more years of George Bush coming up!

Sounds great: No homeland attacks for another 8 years, and 8 more years of no partial birth abortion.

Go with a democrat and you'll get neither.

What about the homeland attack that happened under Bush's watch in his first year? Does he get a pass on that? A review of the ENTIRE Bush presidency has a pretty major homeland attack occuring...certianly not something I'd be bragging about.

I plan on voting no on all 3 of those measures, but will do further research to make sure before coloring in that oval.

@skep: Wouldn't that make the news!

Thanks for the heads up on the drug measure. I'll be digging too. Maybe we should start a thread?

I'm interested in that one as I clearly oppose seizure before conviction. Don't want to hose that up. However, keeping the goods after the conviction isn't the way to go.
