Electric?
Blades?
Straight razor?
And what kind of gel, pre-shave treatment or foam do you use before shaving?
Do we need 5 blades??
Do we need an electric razor that tilts, pivots, and makes our morning coffee?
Just askin'....

Electric. A blade will never touch my face again...

I feel the same about electric. Can't take the numb feeling and that you have to go over the same spots 36 times to get 5 stray hairs.
Had the expensive Norelco and it was awful. I've tried over the years but electric isn't for me....

Gillette fusion 5 blades(although after 3 I can't really tell a difference)
Gillette fusion shaving cream for sensitive faces (it came with the razor)
I shave down to up "against the grain" for the most part
Only once a week or it hurts like a mutha
An electric for me is a waste of time. It just doesn't give me the smooth shave of a blade.

I use the Norelco for daily shaving. But I let the whiskers grow on weekends, and shave with a razor every Monday morning.

I've had an expensive Norelco that didn't do a good job. Now I have the mid-priced model and it's great.

I wish my barber still did shaves. Nothing like it. It was the closest shave ever, and you felt like you were back in the 1800's.

I've switched back and forth. I prefer the multi-blade disposables (Gillette Fusion for example) but they get dull almost instantly and are too expensive.

Lately I've been using a floating-head style electric, and it doesn't do as good a job but is cheaper.

I recently heard about shaving with cocoa butter instead of shaving cream, and I might give that a try.

Anyone in here who has met me knows I'm ... folically challenged.

I've used the same Gillette Sensor razor for the last 18 years or so, I bought it in high school. I've been shaving my head for the last 13 years ... I go through a couple blades a week, I make sure to use some kind of sensitive skin/aloe vera cream so my face doesn't break out. I had a Norelco early in high school and it got dull on peach fuzz.

I always shave down my face and starting from front to back on my head, then I reverse and go up and back to front ... it gets it close just fine.

I've gotten all sorts of sample "TRY ME" razors in the mail, the mach 5 and all of those. They don't shave any closer, and I'm not paying upwards of 20 bucks for blade refills for five cartridges. That's ridiculouys.

I stick with my old school Sensor, it works just fine for me!

The foil type is best for me. It gives a very close shave but is hard on my neck. What I really don't like is that the foil must be replaced every few months and the heads, about every other time. Usually, I end up at a store that only has the foil and heads together so you have to pay about half the price of another razor. It makes a new razor seem like a pretty good idea. I've tried the rotary type and currently have one. I don't have to constantly replace anything but it doesn't give as close a shave. I haven't used a safety blade for many years and when I did, my neck was in peril! There doesn't seem to be an easy answer. I was hoping there was a rotary type that gave a close shave, similar to the foil but have only had limited success finding one.

In the shower, with a can of Barbasol rusting it's way to China and a blade that I can't remember. It's orange and has a trimmer type function on the other edge.

I hate shaving. But I'll do that over having to put on and remove make up every day.

I'm with Broadway. I've had a beard 30+ years (since January 1975) and have never shaved it completely off.

It gets trimmed when I get my haircut, so sometimes it can get looking like the Mississippi Wild Man if I don't get in to see Carol often enough!

I shave under by neck about twice a week in the shower. I rub it with a bar of Dial soap and shave (really just scrape at it!) until its smooth!

I shave my cheeks the same days, but do that at the sink in front of a mirror or the results would not be good! For that I just run water over the razor and scrape away.

I use some kind of Gillette razor. Don't even know what kind. It has 2 blades and I don't think you can even buy the blades anymore. I bought about 10 packs of 5 when I found a "dollar surplus" store going out of business. That should be enough to last me a long time!

I change the blade when it hurts to shave!

I HATE shaving. That's the whole reason I have the beard!

Hell freezing over is a whole different debate;

IS HELL EXOTHERMIC OR ENDOTHERMIC?

The following is an actual question given: Is Hell exothermic (giving off energy/heat) or endothermic (absorbing energy/heat)? Support your answer with proof.

Most of the students wrote using Boyles Law: gas cools when it expands and heats up when compressed. One student, however, wrote the following:

"First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing over time. So, we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to hell it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving.

"As far as how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions. Some state that if you are not a member of their religion then you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one religion and since people do not belong to more than one religion we can safely project that all people and all souls go to Hell. And, with the birth and death rates as they are we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially.

"Now, if we will look at the rate of change with respect to volume in Hell. Because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to remain the same the volume of Hell has to expand as souls are added. This gives only two possibilities:

"If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate than which souls are entering then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

"Of course, if hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls then the temperature will drop until all Hell freezes over.

"So which is it?

"If we accept the postulate given to me by Ms. Sheryl Atkinson during my freshman year that it would 'be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,' and taking into account that I have not succeeded in having sexual relations with her, then I am sure that Hell must be exothermic."

I almost ran into Herb the other day. He was right in front of me on I-5 in his KIA with the "Terror, Abortion kills 4000 Americans every day" and "Wise Men Still Seek Him" bumper stickers!

I buy the second but have my own opinions and beliefs on the first.

At least now I know what to aim at when i'm driving my old clunker! 10 pointer.

Obviously Dubya uses an electric razor for a quick touch up in the morning and THAT is why the economy is such a mess. In fact, the whole bunch of Washington Jackals probably uses electric razors.

No wonder oil prices are so high. Their drain on the power grid by the use of electric razors have cost thousands of jobs. With the decrease in blade usage. American steel companies couldn't sell enough blades to be profitable, now we rely on chinese imports. Damn republicans. I'm on board with the Dems proposal to provide tax incentives for blade users, and penalize those who contribute to global warming by their over-reliance on small electrical appliances for the sake of vanity.

(there! This thread has now been politicised!)
