WOW, I guess i've been breaking the law now for quite some time. I am stopping by the boat store tonight so that I am legal to drive.

Did you know Vancouver, WA has a city law that requires all motor vehicles to carry anchors... as an emergency brake.

Who woulda thunk it.

Yah, but in Oregon it is too dangerous to pump your own gas, but perfectly fine to walk on the freeway.

Did you know that in Portland it is against the law to whistle underwater?

Also, did you know that in Portland one may not bathe without wearing "suitable clothing," i.e., that which covers one's body from neck to knee.

Didja know that it's illegal to burp in a public (specifically Government) building in Camas?

Would a 10-year old Diamondback BMX frame work?

Who knows....amongst all the junk stored in my truck I probably have an anchor in there.....somewhere.......... ;o)

Well ... I had a saying for explaining Portland weather to non-natives -

"There's two seasons in Portland - winter and August."

It doesn't snow THAT much here. Last winter was an aberration.

You know, I'm always curious about these kind of crazy-sounding laws, so I went to the Vancouver WA Municipal Code page and could find no reference to needing an "anchor" in your car. Feel free to take a look yourself.

(read the 'Panorama and Peep Show" definitions for some really slutty municipal code language...!)
