In a sense, I'm inclined to say, if the Russian government wants to deal with all of the paperwork and man-hours that it would take to license all Wi-Fi devices, go for it. Wi-Fi devices contain radio transmitters, after all. Does anyone else remember that in the U.S., an FCC license was at one time required to use a CB radio? |

The CB radio licensing was phased out in the late 1970s. One trucking history web site states that this happened in 1977. |
