I just wanted to share this, which came in today's email. Any opinion's?

Quote of the Week

It's not my favorite. That, would be his oft repeated line that by electing him "we can change the world."

I think that promise has been made by more than a few aspiring leaders though the years. Some used it successfully, and always to the regret of those who believed, and followed them down that road.

If he is elected, I will hold him to an impossibly high standard. If he fails to succeed - I will take it personally and blame nobody but him. He is campaigning on that very promise and it works both ways.

I am inspired by this. He has run his campaign very well. Obama has managed to take the high ground --even with totally understandable outs, because he wants to live by his words as much as he can --not just say them because that will help him win.

Will he succeed?

Maybe. Hope so.

Know what? If he doesn't, it's not going to be his deal. He will have stepped up, and will have done his best, for good, solid reasons, not the least of which is love for his country and respect for his fellow man.

I won't blame him, unless I see him take some outs when he could go to bat instead.

What's to regret? Regret thinking that maybe we can do good things? Regret the whole "yes we can!" bit?

Not me. Maybe that makes me somewhat of an idealist. Guilty as charged. I sleep good most nights because of it.

There are far worse things.
