Will be at the Schnitzer Monday July 14th and Tuesday July 15th. Just an FYI for those interested. I remember a couple of threads were several people mentioned him and that he was very funny.

Hmmmm...Just check for tickets and it came up zero. Sold Out Already??

Wow. Sure enough. There are a few solos available - no " 2 tickets " available though. Surprising, actually. But good on Portland for comin' out for this guy. It's be a hoot. Plus, he's a tad further along in the tour ( re; better ) than he was the last time he stopped in Portland. It was not well worked-out material then. This will be better.

I just wanted to mention that Eddie Izzard has a bit part in the recent movie (now on DVD) "Across The Universe". He performs one of The Beatles number.

The main reason for Eddie Izzard fans interest in this DVD is on the extra features disc. There are two (approximate) 3 minute UNCUT takes of Eddie performing "Being To The Benefit of Mr Kite."

They'll blow you away and I found them back to back on uTube:

Has anybody here seen the whole movie?

What did you think of it?

After watching a few of the YouTube clips from it, I'm definitely going to put it on my NetFlix cue!

So I had never heard of Eddie Izzard. Checked out a few Youtube clips. Wasn't all that impressed. Maybe just got some bad clips.

He certainly has an unusual look, part of his gimmick. He's clever but I didn't bust a laugh out load.

Call me dull.

You're not dull, Chris.

He's a stand up comedian primarily, but he can also act. Izzard fans are the ones that would really appreciate the clip. Also for film buffs, doing 3 minutes in one complicated solo take almost perfectly is very impressive.

IMO his "Dress to Kill" DVD is the one to watch if one is just getting started with all things Izzard.

Skybill, as for the film itself, its fairly good. You'll probably be glad you watched it. I would have preferred to have the actual Beatles singing, however, you can't go wrong with a movie containing 33 Beatles songs.

(The movie producers paid 8.5 million to use the songs in the movie.)
