I personally think its a great idea. How many stations around have no one in them for more than 12 hours at a time. I bet its more than we realize.

Translation:

I personally think it would be a great idea if the FCC re-instituted the mandate that radio stations are required to have a live person on site 24/7. After all, how many stations run unattended 12 hours or more a day? More than you'd think.

Yeah, I think it's a great idea! A great way to seed new and/or rising talent on the overnights. The pay always sucks, but I remember doing that and my regular radio duties just to learn as much as I could.

From what I know about the Portland stations, most still have a body or two starting at 4 or 4:30am in the morning until 12:30am or 1am in the morning. Sure there might be automation in motion, but evening guys, production assistants and part timers can usually get a lot done during the late night.

Wait... back up, the pay still sucks! But we love what we do! LOL
