What is it with these Republicans mixing up Obama and Osama? Mitt Romney has done the same thing. Is it just a mistake or are they doing it on purpose? The crowd booed Ashcroft pretty hard and he looked pretty embarrassed.

Honestly, it's not that hard of a mistake to make. I'm not so sure all these Republicans are doing it on purpose.

I'm sure no one here, including me, has EVER mis-spoke about ANYTHING.

The only difference is that the politicians have cameras on them most of the time and the media sensationalizes it.

That's all it is. The Media blowing it out of proportion as usual.

Oddly enough, Ashcroft is one of the few that served in the Bush administration having a conscience (even if only partially functioning), so I'd vote mistake.

Asscroft.

Thought I would return the favor.

I agree with Andrew. I think this is gonna happen, from time to time.

I saw the video.

No big deal. His apology was very sincere.

He is still a jerk, though, for his REAL mistakes.

Instead of putting $100,000 in his freezer, Mr. Ashcroft was pilloried for holding Bible studies amid the political cesspool of Washington, DC politics.

Classic leftist spin.

"The Office of Compliance is an independent congressional agency responsible for administering and enforcing employment policies and making sure congressional offices follow health and safety laws that apply to other government agencies.

The compliance office has investigative and enforcement powers, and is overseen by a five-member board of directors."

So, Nwokie, you do not believe the independent office is independent, but you believe the independent lawyer that went after Bill Clinton was independent.

Dude, get your reading glasses fixed or at least stay sober in the mornings.

" Well considering the Senator and terrorist havde the same name, people shouldn't be suprised when they are occassionally mixed up."

That's what Ashcroft should have said instead of apologizing, eh?

This is where Nwokie goes away and Deane chimes in with " What's the difference?" and Herb announces a point change to support " clssic leftist spin." Uhhh, I think that shifting the actual topic is the very definition of " spin."

Much in the same way Republicans don't believe what Obama says, I'm suspicious of this being an honest mistake...one that is made so often now that Nwokie believes it to be accurate. Which is a low threshold to meet - but still.

So to sum up; Osama Bin Hussein used his public schooling to deal crack and secretly desires to be President so he can further his Muslim agenda to allow terrorists into America so he can perform his Holocaust against Jews and Whites so he can get a sweet land deal like he learned from " The Daley Machine."

Got it.

You know, I am sincerely glad that you guys have never taken drugs. You've got enough paranoia already. Imagine how ridiculous you'd sound if you were high.

"I think that shifting the actual topic is the very definition of 'spin.'"

Hardly. Leftist groups like the diabolical aclu jump all over a guy for leading a Bible study:

http://www.aclu.org/religion/govtfunding/16331prs20010514.html

...but give a crooked liberal with cold cash in his freezer a pass:

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/capitol-briefing/2007/02/jefferson_gets_homeland_securi.html

This kind of leftist spin happens all day long.

I'm merely shining a little light on it whilst watching democrats scatter like rats.

It's an honour for my name to be mentioned in the same sentence with one of our nation's best vice-presidents.

Mr. Nixon would have been indeed fortunate to have swapped Mr. Agnew for Mr. Cheney.

How can prayer meetings in the Justice Department of the Federal government not be a violation of the principle of separation of church and state? He's a public servant, being paid with public money, and should not be holding religious service on the public's dime. If he wants to hold a prayer service, hold it during non work hours in a non-government building.

Look.

If you're going to pile on a guy who is no longer even an office-holder, in what is a lame-duck presidency, the real question is 'what's the point?'

Pardon me for mixing my metaphors, but I'm merely trying to salvage your salvo and give the thread some relevant legs, lest it die a languishing and premature death.

How will Osama do a better job of this than Bush has?

Wait a minute. You keep saying that Mr. McCain is 'your guy.'

And you accuse 'your guy' of wanting to start WW III?

You're either

(1) An unwitting political poseur

(2) An intentional democrat operative provacateur

And/or

(3) Like so many liberals, simply self-hating and confused.
