Whats really sad is that this is a childrens program. Teaching young children to hate and want to kill.

Cant we just do away with that backwards ass part of the world?

I only wish that these were April Fool's jokes. This is just too sick. I am curious, what kinds of television stations are Hamas TV and Al Aqsa TV? Are they over-the air stations, or are they available only on cable or satellite? How many people do they reach? I would feel a bit better if these operations were on the scale of cable access than if they were more mainstream o-e

Evangelical christians are teaching their children the same hate. The only difference between all the whacko religious nuts is their geography.

Your answer to this was way too predictable.

You sir are a liar. Show me one video of Evangelical christians putting on a puppet show where one pupper stabs another puppet to death.

If you live near a bridge, consider the jump.

Yea, I too would like to see the proof of the "same hate".

Now you did say "same hate" which means that there is a video of an Evangelical christian puppet stabbing the leader of another country to death.

I get the suspicion that if it was a democrat president you would see it differently.

Pat Robertson is 100% INSANE! That's one bad American.

Ooops! I made a little bit of an editing mistake in my above post (no, I didn't get attacked by jihadists while writing that). The question that I was trying to express is, how mainstream are these television stations? As an analogy, if I were to see similar extremist viewpoints expressed on a Cable Access broadcast, I could easily write off the producers as kooks who found a place to get free or low-cost airtime. However, if I were to find the same program airing on KGW, then I would be worried.

I agree with Amus. If the impact of violent suggestions to assassinate political figures is to be measured, other puppet shows designed for childlike minds ought to be included in the study.

From a 2005 article in the National Review: "According to Nielsen Media Research, The 700 Club, aired each weekday, has averaged 863,000 viewers in the last year." I think that Robertson and Chavez are equally nutty, but any suggestion of assassination to almost a million viewers borders on the criminal. If it were said about Putin, an evil man who rigs elections, poisons his rivals and kills his enemies, it would have been a mess solved only through a quick retraction, speedy media spin, and international diplomacy.

As far as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict goes, I think that the entire situation is tragic. While I have sympathy for the peaceful majorities on both sides of the issue, extremism is a two way street, and neither side can feign innocence. Expanding suburbs at gunpoint and recreating the horror of East Berlin while factions blindly lob rockets into neighborhoods is no way to build a nation. These things are what shape the lives of little kids like Saraa. Instead of hating her for deadly zealous immaturity, we ought to ask why a young girl feels so hopeless that she would strap on a bomb.

Using statistics from our own CIA for all residents under 14 years old, Tomorrow's Pioneers, has a maximum potential audience of 705,351 in the Gaza Strip including infants and toddlers. The same figures also show that the median age is 16, 80% of the population live in poverty and the unemployment rate is 35 percent overall.

Unlike the 700 Club, or Sesame Street and re-runs of Mister Rogers, the show in question airs once a week, not daily. It also has rather irregular broadcasts due to all of the fighting between Hamas and Fatah that has crippled media in Palestine. Since it is not well-financed vitriol from the Bible belt, or classic PBS, al-Aqsa has a much smaller audience than the bigoted and senile Reverend, the pals of Jim Henson or the greatest show ever produced in Pittsburgh.

Another place that is hot as hell, poor, racially divided and full of refugees is Los Angeles. Thankfully, the biggest spiritual puppeteer on television is not a reactionary or violent person. David Hart is the creator of the long-running Junior Christian Science Bible Lesson Show. Yes, that is an alien singing about Jesus. He might be pretty far out, but he certainly isn't advocating hurting anybody.

I find it sad that instead of talking about this and the problem that this is creating on young kids, people such as vitalogy would rather play the "well the other side does it too" card.

Palestinian kids do not need TV to be taught to hate the west. They have been taught that hate long before they had access to TV. That is why no matter what we do in the Middle East, we are fighting a losing battle.

Of course, we could kill all the kids first and then they would have no one to replace the bombers.
