I have done a cursory search and could not find the Fan's superstar jock, Jason Scukanec, on any roster. Did he ever play in an NFL regular season game?

Would appreciate an answer.

I think he was on practice squads, and pre-season rosters.

The odds are highly against most of humanity for playing in the NFL.

I think Jaketaylor is right.

I'm pretty sure Suke has said on the air several times that he's never played in a regular season game. He played in NFL Europe and made a few NFL practice squads. Dont knock the guy for not making it in the NFL. He got farther than any of us, and got a free college education at BYU.

Now I just wish he'd give up on his radio career so The Fan could find someone better to put with Ropp. :-)

it would certainly appear not....he was briefly, and i mean briefly (weeks, not months) on the practice squads for the Broncos and Bucs in 2002 and 2003, and as best i can tell he didnt see any action for his NFL Europe team, the Scottish Claymores in 2003 either....

Ness,

Most of us could not get an invite because we are not skilled enough as a prospective NFL player, let alone a college player. He has done more than I will ever do.

Radiohead,
Not sure why that was directed at me, but I agree. I tried making it clear in my post that I wasnt knocking the guy for not making it in the NFL. I admire the guy for being able to make it as far as he did.

Same here, no knocks against the guy.

There is definitely no shame in not making an NFL roster. I wasn't even a starter on my HS football team so I could never question someones ability on the field.

the only time someone should get knocked for getting as far as Suke did playing wise is A) If he makes bigger claims than his stats support (Suke seems honest about his playing past) or B) There was a whole lot of talent wasted (which doesnt seem to be his case either...he maximized his talents and while he didnt make it "all the way" definitely far outran the competition to make it to a pretty dang elite level. That being said, i respect what he did on the field, i too wish he were a better radio guy....

Suke makes it obvious he sucked as an NFL player but he does have some interesting stories to tell about the brief time he was there.

The kxl sports guys are so out of touch that they can't effectively sell the blazers, kxl needs the primetime host to sell the blazers to the public and should appreciate them more

I heard the people's champ has moved his gym to the more westward of the two bancrofts. He will help bring more credibility, objectivity, and passion. plus, he knows the association better than anybody at The Fan.
