Good grief, that was a lot of calls and faxes. I linked this entry because it mostly expresses the frustration and feeling of doom I had over this issue.

Nobody cares really about taps with warrants --or at least entries into the public record about who, when, where, why, how.

The issue of significance was blatent circumvention of basic accountability and the very dangerous precedent to be set if "the president does it, it's not illegal".

We are not there yet on the latter. Probably gonna be the next President that deals with that in a definitive way.

Anyway, it's good to see the system sort of work. IMHO, the whole thing being as hard as it is worries me still. Core law basics should not see this level of debate!
