This just in:

It's a tie in Mississippi.

With 0% of precincts reporting, it’s Obama 0 and Clinton 0!

Ya gotta love the south!

Obama has been declared the winner in Mississippi by CNN.

According to CNN, Republicans have requested 60,000 ballots primarily in the northeast corner of the state. We will see if they follow the pattern of voting for Hillary like the approximately 600,000 GOP supporters reported to have voted for her in Texas. As far as I know, Bill Clinton wasn't a guest on the Rush Limbaugh show today, so perhaps it will be less of a factor this time around.

I hope they do clarify that is really happening.

(and I think it's funny actually!)

If we can get to a point where we know a fair amount about this, then we reach a point where those things can be quantified well enough to basically nullify the effort!

Assuming it's happened in numbers large enough to be significant, it then becomes perfectly clear that Obama is the right person to run for President.

I seriously doubt the supers are going to risk the mess that could arise from just picking Clinton. In fact, the pressure is growing very high for them to demonstrate they are specifically not doing that, meaning Clinton has to have it solid, not just close, for it to be real.

Go at it hard guys. Obama could use the help!

Might get kind of muddy --probably is muddy, where there are republicans actually crossing over to help change things up. Those people are likely to vote Dem because they've a legit investment.

The others, playing games, are not going to do that, and the real nut is can we sort those out to any degree that makes sense?

Good points Missing. I have some other interesting tidbits to share.

First of all, I apologize. I misspoke when I said there were 600,000 GOP votes for Hillary Clinton in Texas. The number is actually around 200,000. With that cleared up, here is why I mentioned it.

Since the Republican nomination was sewn up, this artificial bump strategy has been in play in three recent states. The CNN exit polls are quite telling, especially in Mississippi where the GOP just voted for Clinton 75% to 25%. Even with their help, she still lost by a 61% to 37% margin and around a hundred thousand votes. Take a look:

In other words, Clinton has far fewer supporters than she believes, and the Republicans are sneakily trying to keep her in this election. This "Rush Limbaugh Effect" would be even worse if there were not so much appeal for Obama across party lines.

So, without a Republican push, the reality in Texas is a percentage split very much like the caucuses. The true believers stayed and caucused, while the interlopers voted and went home for steak.

It is time for the underdog charade, the wishful math and the attacks to end. I will be very disappointed in the Democratic leadership if they let this game continue any longer. If you feel the same way, let the super delegates hear from you.

I think the GOP better be careful with what they wish for. Clinton or Obama will beat McCain in the general, so voting for Clinton in the primaries may well backfire big time for the GOP.
