On a media tour last Friday in his home state to announce his bid for a fourth House term, Iowa's Republican US House Rep Steve King said he viewed Obama as a detriment to U.S. interests because of his opposition to the war in Iraq and because of his heritage. |

Mr. King is displaying his ignorance. The election of Obama would not signify an era of appeasement for terrorists. This view is simply wrong. Obama has echoed this rebuttal of Mr. king's comments, and so has John McCain. This guy's comments border on the fringe of mainstream America, and the mainstream politicians know it. |
