According to OK Senator Tom Coburn, the US government does not have the $11 million dollars to pay for the wilderness expansion. Yet, the according to the most recent figures, the US is spending about $12 BILLION per month in Iraq.

This is not only an example of how screwed up our funding priorities are, it's also an example of a Senator who is abusing his power. Shame on you Tom Coburn!

From the article: " Coburn at one point in the campaign reportedly said the war in Iraq was "absolutely not" a mistake.

Vice President Dick Cheney, a vocal defender of the war, came to Tulsa to campaign and raise money for Coburn."

Most recently however: "I will tell you personally that I think it was probably a mistake going to Iraq," said the freshman senator, who made it clear he did not believe the U.S. could withdraw but had to stay. . ."

"U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn's comment that going to war in Iraq was "probably a mistake" represents a significant departure from where the Oklahoma Republican started out on the 5-year-old conflict. "
