In 2000, the demos screamed that ballots should be counted as the voter intended, and voting rules should be more leniant, now the demos are refusing to allow votes from Glorida and Michigan, because the party leaders in those states didn't follow the rules. The people in those states had no say in it, so why are they being punished?

People were told up front that their vote would not count in FL or MI. Why on earth would you go back after the fact and allow them to count? That's not a fair election. Either they hold a new primary, or don't allow them to count at all. Personally, I'm leaning towards not letting them count period. They broke the rules, were told how they'd be punished, but did it anyway.

Why only look at part of the issue? And why mix things together? Why conservative leaning people do this is simply beyond me.

The Democratic party has made some key mistakes this election cycle and regardless if they take the White House or not need to make what I feel are two key changes for the 2012 race. 1) The Democratic National Committee needs to enact a lottery of sorts to determine when the individual states hold primaries. Because in a sense there are no winners only losers in the current situation with Florida and Michigan. 2) The Democratic National Committee needs to abolish the Superdelegates. The whole superdelegate is a crock of shit and is a betryal of sorts to the average joe voter.

Well the Supers might do just fine. I'm not convinced they are anything bad right now. We've yet to see how it's all gonna shake out. So far there has been a lot of talk about them not going with the vote. IMHO, that's not proven out just yet. They have the party to worry about, and can get the news like the rest of us. Basically, if Obama wins it (and the math says he has all but done that), and Clinton gets the nod, the party will be broken for a long time, particularly with Black voters. Don't know if they are gonna consider that worth it. IMHO, all of this crap is about Clinton having only one shot and this is it. Obama gets elected, his VP goes next cycle, Clinton too old. She's got to come to acceptance on that, and it's not coming easy.

"And why mix things together?" Sort of like Saddam and 9/11. No connections, but the conservatives bought it. Dumb.

The individual voters in Florida and Michigan had no part in setting the election dates, instead of punishing them, why don't they withold the credentials of the party officials. Looks like the demos have found a way to rig their elections, Dean doesn't want Hillary as the nominee, so he just has the party officials in two of her key states move up the primaries, therefore invalidating millions of votes.

That is all crap. Another way to look at it. Moving the primaries around was a known good way to disenfranchise those voters. If Dean didn't hold the line, then the message would be that primaries could be manipulated at will. Now, the people of those states can take a hard look at their party leaders and either convince them to do the right thing, or get new ones. That's not an inconsistency. And I really like Dean. Without him, the party would not be doing as well as it is right now. He embraced grass roots, people powered politics and did it in all 50 states. That's a huge change up from how it all used to go. Good for everybody all around. Dean is a big part of why we have Obama right now and not two clearly establishment choices.

Keep in mind that in FL it was a Republican governor and a Republican legislature that moved the primary, not the Democrats. And it wouldn't surprise me that it was done as a way to screw things up for the Democrats being that FL is an important state for the Democrats...
