For the last 20 minutes, I was enjoying the interstitial music programming between basketball game broadcasts. Much more variety than even Charlie, and it's great to hear Nirvana and some old No Doubt on AM - reminds me of the old 970 The Beat (Yes, STILL! After all these years). The reason I wish they had this info on a website somewhere is because normally at this time they're simulcasting KPSU.

Newflyer...Thanks for listening! A website that we can update easily is on my very long "to do" list. I hope to be able to accomplish that soon. There would have been no way to predict when the music would be on since it was coming between live games of an unpredictable length. FYI..We will be airing the 6A boys Grant vs Tualatin game Wednesday at 1:30pm...and the 5A boys Jefferson vs N. Eugene at 8:15pm. If either Grant or Jefferson win on Wednesday we will air their games on Friday. Regardless of who is playing we will air the 5A & 6A third place games on Saturday as well as both the 5A and 6A championship games.

The kids that run the boards at KBPS-AM during/between basketball games have pretty free run on what music they can play, within reason. Did Kevin Flink finally retire?

Actually, my board ops who run the games can only play what we have in the system...and that is only music I have cleared. We currently have just under 2000 oldies in the library and another 500 more recent tunes. Our school day format, "Kid Rhythm Radio" has nearly a thousand family friendly tunes. Yes, Kevin finally retired at the end of last school year. He's loving having the chance to do a little traveling and enjoy not getting up at 5:30am!!
