...when or if you play games?

I'm into retro gaming, when it's video games. Card games are Pinochle & Poker.

Don't play board games much at all. Monopoly with the kids, if we've all got a long evening planned.

When we play card games, it's usually rummy, but have learned a card game recently called Golf which is fun and easy to play. My son loves gambling games, and always wants to play blackjack or poker, which I will play with him sometimes. I have my retro camp trailer loaded with retro games, so we also sometimes play Yahtzee.

Board games? Monopoly and Clue mostly.

I played the XBox a bit when new, but got bored with it after awhile. We got a copy of Bookworm for the PC and everyone enjoys that. Come to think of it, word games are a general favorite in our house.

Scrabble's a good one, because along with being fun it can help build one's vocabulary.

The only games I have loaded on my PC are Microsoft Flight Simulator X and Mahjong and I don't get to play them as much as I'd like!

It seems I spend too much time posting on some message board!

As far as boardgames every once in a while we'll play Scrabble or Monopoly but haven't played Monopoly for years. Once as a young teenager, 2 friends and I kept a game alive for about 3 weeks!

We'll play Mille Bornes every once in a while too.

My daughter likes the Wii (although she doesn't have one yet, we've been trying for 3 months to find her one!)

My son has an Xbox and just bought a Play Station 3.

MS Flight simulator and Xplanes here too. But Air Command gets more screen time. But I've been far to busy for any of these lately. Maybe I should set aside time for these. Been on lot of planes (real ones) lately -- never know when both pilots croak mid flight. (But I do wonder how we'll get that door open.)

I've got MS Combat Flight Simulator 1, 2 and 3 but have never loaded them.

Maybe I will soon!

How is Xplanes?

I've had some other flying games, but there is too much "setup". You have to choose a mission, weapons yada, yada, yada.

I just want to fly!

"We'll play Mille Bornes every once in a while too."

I forgot about Mille Bornes! My youngest daughter loves that game. Been awhile since we've played, though. That's another one of the games in the retro camper (it's a retro Mille Bornes too - copyright 1964 I think).

Xplanes is less user friendly than MS Flight Simulator, however there are some cool features -- such as flying a hybrid rocket/plane and also flying "air"craft on other planets! :-)

Air Command, of course, is an air traffic stimulator -- there's nothing like getting your mind off stress with more stress.

NationStates, Civilization and Sim-type games mostly. And I don't know how in the world I left the Grand Theft Auto series off when I originally hit "post!"
I've thought of some awful Portland Radio-related adaptations of some board games. Maybe I'll put them together one of these days.

now seriously, I like SeaBattle, but it is a bit basic. Nintendo had a sumarine game where you sank Japanese shipping and enemy destroyers would peel out and come after you. I loved that one but the name eludes me. some of the WWII combat simulators are fun as well, but as a WWII buff I take issue with inaccuracies. Films and doucumentaries on the subject drive me nuts when they use the wrong footage...

Yeah Dark, cabbies are the stuff.

I'm hoping to build out one or two here soon. Either restore some I like, or build a MAME system into one of them, and go that way.

Yes, Newflyer!! A Portland radio board game would be cool. Were you thinking about something loosely based on Monopoly? :-)

I'm a fan of Balderdash. This is a game that involves three or more people and some obscure words. There are some variants that also include trivia.

The Balderdash game involves people trying to guess the definitions to these obscure words. What makes it fun is that the guessing is a two stage process, with two opportunities to score:

1) The word is read aloud and people write down possible definitions to the mystery word. Any person who writes down the correct definition scores points.

2) All definitions, including the real one, are read aloud, and people vote on which they think is correct. Votes for phoney definitions cause the author of that definition to score points. People who vote for the correct definition also score points.

Because one can score points by fooling other people into picking one's phoney definition, it is advantageous to write definitions that sound plausible; this is where the real fun of the game lies!

We love Balderdash. It generates a lot of laughs.

Our favorite board game of the moment: Scrabble.

We play cards when it rains, go figure. Hearts, Spades, Poker.

When our kids were in grade school, my son and I played Avalon Hill's Statis-Pro basketball. His math skills took off like a rocket- he spent many hours compiling statistics for his favorite players and teams. We created our own teams, held drafts each year when the new player cards became available, aaah those were the days. . . before Playstation.

I was wondering if any of you guys know of a fix for the X-box 360 Halo3 problem. During the single/multi player campaign it won't go past level 9.
Could this be a game problem or a system problem? If a system problem do know of a fix?
