After watching the debate tonight, I think Hillary is through. She started off very badly. What is the saying? When someone is shooting themselves in the foot, just get out of the way? Obama completely kicked her butt. I predict that Obama wins both Texas and Ohio by 10%+ margins. How that will reflect in delegates, I'm not sure. All I know is that Obama cemented support with those on the fence.

She pretty much had to score a knock out blow to make much headway.

I think the democrat primary is Mr. Obama's to lose at this point. Unless they find a photo of him with a white house intern, he's ok.

I think Obama has enough integrity to not do something to get caught with a white house intern, or whatever.

Hillary is desperate. She's grasping for straws and taking the low road in frivolous personal attacks on Obama. It shows me how she would run the country if she doesn't get what she wants, pounding that high-chair and crying in her Cheerios.

No thanks. The farther the process goes, the worse she shows herself.

You mean the same people that have pics of him in traditional garb with a white turban?

I bet Karl Rove is all over that.

"Why do they always ask me the question first?"

That was her death blow. Huge mistake. Looks whiny.

Obama is in. As I predicted long ago here...

Let's remember, people were saying the same things about Hillary the day before New Hampshire. I'm not predicting she'll win this time in Ohio and/or Texas, but I'm still not ready to write her off. I didn't see tonight's debates, but I agree, I do sense a hint of desperation about her campaign.

IMO its not good for the Demos to put all their eggs in one basket this far from the convention. By eliminating choices, we're gambling on Obama being as straight and clean as he claims to be and that nothing twisted will surface in the next 9 months.

Its better if Obama gets the nomination in August leaving only a few months to the election. If something dirty surfaces on Obama, he'll lose everything. Hillary, just being Hillary, will survive all the dirt thrown at her.

Hillary will survive, but the rest of the country is seeing her for what she is right now. And they don't like it.

I agree that the debate was very telling. Obama is a high-road kind of fellow. He is straight up. It is good to see him have a chance to expand on specifics, and respond to some tough questions. Insiders, like Hillary, are so used to malarkey that they get caught off-guard when the truth is plain as day.

Hillary whipped up her usual a blizzard of white papers, made an agile dodge of a few questions about her finances, and in the end, came off as more than a little snotty. She sure is long on regret and short on good decisions. Especially when she espouses her record of being a spouse and Senator.

Hillary needs to be the first female President, whether we need her or not. She set aside her aspirations, married for power as much as love, and is paying the price of her poison partnership. She cannot pick a winner, but she really hates to lose.

Anyone who has played team ball knows that "hate to lose" attitude is only a positive to a point. There has to be an underlying unselfishness to winning that takes everyone into account, or one is simply winning for themselves alone. One can break individual records on a lousy team, but never bring a championship. This lack of vision leads to all sorts of dead ends like bending the rules and dividing your ranks with criticism.

For her team to win it all November, she needs to admit that the younger player has more skills, more tools and is a more solid start. She can come in off the bench if they need her, and in the meantime, keep the divisive badmouthing to herself.

So, do you think Hillary will relent after Obama wins Texas and Ohio next week?

Wouldn't it be wild if Obama could chose Huckabee as his VP????

Darktemper, I don't see Hilary quitting until the convention, or just before. I just read she even gave $5million to her campaign to keep it going, although that won't go very far these days.

Obama-Huckabee.

I like it.

It fits in with my 'anyone but Hillary' theme, and talk about covering all the bases.

Obama-Huckabee.

That would truly be a case of reaching across the isle!

If he did choose Huckabee as VP, I might even vote De....Dem.....Democrat. Man that was hard to say.

I don't think Clinton will drop out immediately if she loses Texas and Ohio but if she does lose them, I will concede that it's probably over for her campaign. This is probably her one "shot" and I think she's not going to quit easily, though. As long as it's mathematically possible for her to win, I think she'll stay in.

Hillary once again pounding on her high-chair, threatening legal action if she doesn't get her way:

Well, to be fair, you can vote twice in Texas with that system.

Fair point, but not one that's gonna impact her specifically.

This aspect of Texas has been known for a while. Wonder if she would present that same challenge if she were in the dominant position.

That could be mitigated by calling attention to this and asking all the candidates to support the move.

The way she has structured this, it's an excuse to get into court, at least that's my impression.

Nice time to watch Obama. Maybe he can join the effort and marginalize her thunder. Heck, he's got a ton of supporters. They could just help watch the vote, for her sake! Heh.

It just gets more and more painful to watch the one who crowned herself Queen just a short year ago. Hillary, please, either run a real campaign on real issues or go home. Your daily flagellations are an embarrassment to the country. The fear tactics, racial slurs and whining are achieving nothing for your numbers.

Just when you thought that she had stretched believability to the breaking point, Hillary launches a neo-con scare tactic ad.

So, Mrs. Clinton, what crucial late night phone experiences are you referring to that make you the expert? The "Ooops, sorry wrong number" booty calls for Bill? Secret business dealings? A ring from sweet little Chelsea?

In their infinitesimal wisdom, the Clinton machine is making everyone doubt our government, and that includes both Democrats. I am sure it is leading more than a few folks to wonder if McCain would wake up at all.

Maybe she and Joe Lieberman can start the Warmongering Turncoat Party and run on a ticket together.
