I knew it, Well...I don't wanna brag, Oh what the hell I'm gonna brag. I knew Blue Ray would be the clear winner over HD. The reason I knew was because last year Blockbuster stoped carrying HD DVDS and only focused on the Blue Rays. Plus I never saw that many HD DVDS at ANY stores. |

If only the contents of the Blue Ray disks were as improved as BlueRay HD over SD. A Yugo on a HD Plasma set isn't any better than a Yugo on a SD screen. But I'm glad you're excited. But I'm keeping my big tube TV for a little while longer. |

The question is whether we will see Blu-ray burners soon, or at all. Sony's latest and greatest multi-media computer has a Blu-ray player and a built in DVR, but no way to burn video to any kind of removable disc. Since Sony is also a producer of entertainment programming (which was not the case in the days of the BetaMax), they may not want the public making home burned copies of their content. |

If you had an Xbox 360 you could get a HD DVD player for 150 more ontop of the price of the 399 Xbox. |

I went to the store a couple of days ago to replace the bedroom DVD player with one that actually played my homemade DVDs. I also wanted it to have an HDMI connection. I figured I'd have to spend about $100 anyway. I ended up with an HD DVD for $138! I wouldn't normally buy into nearly obsolete technology but the quality of the upconverter alone should make it worth those few extra dollars and I got 2 free movies along with the deal albeit teetering on the brink of obsolescence! I went home and immediately installed the main DVD in the bedroom, replacing it with the new one. |
