I think that Prairie View A&M embodies the spirit of our elections, and the power of the American people. The student body marched over seven miles to get to the polls. Seeing these young people so full of energy really puts this whole process in perspective. Though their school is only 100 years younger than our country, the students and graduates were not guaranteed a vote until 1965. |

This is the kind of political activism that has been missing from the body politic for a few decades. Sure, various people have been busting their butts every four years to get their candidate elected, but wearing out shoe leather like this in 2008 to make sure the ability to vote is simply retained is inspiring... |
