I wonder what kind of Christian format they'll put on 98.9.

Since the greater Bend area is over saturated with Christian radio, maybe he will try Spanish Christian programming.

what is the range on the 390 watts though in Prineville though? I wonder if it will simply rebroadcast KNLR.

With antenna height it has a rim-shot to Bend.
It will be interesting to see what format Terry makes it and whether to run it out of KNLR with the re-sale stipulation.

Class C3 typically has 39 km to the 60 dBu contour.
However, they are implementing a directional antenna
with a null between 220 and 300 degrees which will
limit any direct or indirect coverage towards Bend.

The application is for non-directional operation on 104.9 from about the same location.

Changing freq. no more than 3 channels is normally the limit for a minor change, so I'm a little confused. Also in their app they write they can't find a transmitter site for the original freq. So unless I'm missing something ....

He moved to 104.9 because 98.9FM could not be built. There is another application from Combined Communications, Inc. on 98.5FM.

Maybe they want to put Regional Mexican on this FM Signal.

We signed on KNLX/Prineville at 104.9 on Thursday 5/1/08 at 11:40am. For now it will rebroadcast KNLR/Bend.

When might the new format for 104.9 KNLX be revealed?

Any one guesses on what that format might be?
Spanish (Mexican)? I here there are alot of them in Prineville.

KNLX are the new call letter for Terry's new FM.
Could Churchill be picking this one up as "La X" the call letters fit it just right.

Is 97.5 KNLR still called "New Life Radio" on the air? If so, it would make sense to get another set of similar calls.

KNLX doubled the power last week with great coverage into Prineville, Redmond, Madras, Warm Springs. Also because of the lay of the land east of the Cascades...bonus coverage in Shaniko and most of the way to the Columbia Gorge.

Great trip for a new signal...but the TX site is much closer to Bend than to the Gorge!
