Yeah. I gotta say, it's been a while since I have felt this kind of pinch. I've been pretty fortunate to have dodged slumps before. Not this time. I guess I was due.

It'll be a good lesson for me though. I'll come to understand a few things that I didn't before and I'll be better prepared if it happens again. ( Assuming we actually DO work ourselves out of this one. Which we will. I think the election will make people enthusiastic about working harder towards a genuine recovery ).

This is serious stuff people. The key word to read in that article is INFLATION. If inflation goes up, long term interest rates will have to go up even in the face of a recession. In fact, a quick check of mortgage rates shows a .75% increase in the last three weeks alone on the benchmark 30 yr fixed. Not exactly what a slumping housing market needs right now.

IMO there's never too many lottery games for people who want to pay my taxes. (But enough with the casinos. Unless of course, one wants to build it in downtown Hillsboro or Gresham, then I don't care. )
