Some cars now equiped with MicroSfot's Sync system. ARE THEY CRAZY? This will cause the car to crash 4 times daily without notice. To get it going again you will have to press the rear defog button, dash light override, and temperature up all while pressing the gas and brake simultaneously as you turn the key. The stereo is conviently equiped with a blue back light.

This is gonna confuse a lot of people when the have to press the "Start" button to turn off the engine.

There are even viruses aimed at this new system.

The "ROSS PEROT VIRUS" Activates every component in your vehivle, just before the whole thing quits.

The "CONGRESSIONAL VIRUS" The Steering Wheel locks up, screen splits erratically with a message appearing on each half blaming the other side for the problem.

The "MICHAEL JACKSON VIRUS" Hard to identify because it is constantly altering its appearance. The virus won't harm you, but it will trash your car.

The "GOVERNMENT ECONOMIST VIRUS" Nothing works, but all your diagnostic software says everything is fine.

The "AT&T VIRUS" Every three minutes it tells you what great service you are getting.

The "THE MCI VIRUS" Every three minutes it reminds you that you are overpaying for AT&T.

Well anybody that has trouble with their Ford gets what they get.

Computers have no place in cars. Having said that, little embedded ones, simple, well debugged ones, appear to do no real harm.

Don't fix what ain't broke!

Recently Microsoft had to recall all of it's Microsoft labeled Titleist golf balls. Residents around local golf courses were complaining about their Windows crashing all of the time as a result of a defective Microsoft product. Microsoft did pull the product but found that it may have been due to the use of a Macintosh Driver that caused the malfunction.

Hmmm. Must be a different virus. The "MICHAEL JACKSON VIRUS" I heard of activates the GPS and automatically drives the car to the nearest K-Mart where the Blue Light Special is; Boys Pants Half Off!

They could have gone with a Linux system, but then none of the parts would work with each other.
And there would be no one to go to with complaints, since its all open source.

DANGER Will Robinson! I sure hope that unknown device is not the air-bag because Windows drivers are the worst. It'll probably ask you if you are sure before it will deploy in an accident and the Macintosh driver will just simply do it's job!

Windows has detected to much FAT already in your system.
Please do not upgrade to FAT32 and stay with FAT16.

Seen on tonights local (Eugene) news is a story about recent Ford ambulances being very unreliable -- failing engines and such.

http://www.kval.com/news/15750657.html

The gist of the story is "East Coast ambulance companies have filed a class-action lawsuit against Ford. West Coast departments are waiting to see what happens before they take action."
