2. I wonder how much the "fix" to prevent this from ever happening again will cost?

(Seriously, I hope the a$$hole gets the "MAX" for driving that drunk. Too bad there's no 3rd rail to step on or too bad he didn't hit the train bumper head on.)

They said on KOIN news that the total cost to MAX to fix the damage he did and for the busses needed to reroute while the line was shut down is going to be about $20K.
I hope he has to pay it.

It took them hours to get it out. Why didn't they just back a train up to it, chain it up, and pull it out the way it went in.
It took max suerviwsors hours to figure out how to get it out.

They may not have a railcar with a boom, but anytime max has problems, sees like theres 20 supervisors standing around shaking their heads.
They could have just picked the car up, using all those supervisors.
But wait that wouldn't work, we all know max supervisors never do anything that might get their pretty white shrts dirty!
