If you're into audience stats, don't miss the HELLO GOODBYE story in the Oregonian today, Saturday 2/16, page B-1.

people of Oregon.....

Mostly I like them except maybe for a judge and a police officer in Gold Beach, but I guess they were just looking to pick up a few extras bucks for the city.

that blonde waitress in Newport was sure a hottie!

And that Truck stop South of PDX with the HUGE Breakfast was something as well........

Still think Medford TV missed out on a great VT editor and studio Tech in 1983.....The one they chose didn't stay long.... I liked the staff there.

Wife's cousin in PDX is a bit needy, but good people... Mothers cousin in North Bend is a fine person as well. Great people at Kell's, and most of you are a swell bunch also.

Well, I think that covers everyone.

"Truck stop South of PDX"

Gone. Its a Costco and a few other ugly stores now.

(Geez, of all the things they could have done with the site, the Burns brothers created a butt-ugly development that could have fit perfectly in Dallas TX. Now up near Tigard, they showed what could be done with a bit of smartness -- the Bridgeport development.)

The Bridgeport Development's best restaurant, IMHO, is California Pizza Kitchen!

I go there often for their field greens salad.

It had field greens, thinly sliced pears, gorgonzola cheese and candied walnuts with a balsamic vinaigrette. I add apple wood smoked bacon!

Mmmm, Mmmm Good!

BTW, there are lots of other good restaurants there too!

I had dinner at M&S Grill last night and enjoyed a few Manhattan's as well. Good times.

And besides that, the Oregonian story says that these days "more than half" of those living in Oregon came from somewhere else! I wonder what the percentage is in the city of Portland, anyone know?

According to the story most move here from California (51,295), next is Washington state (24,230), Arizona (8,078), Texas (4,580) and Colorado (4,424). Stats are for the year of 2006.

My guess is that at least the Californians are moving to the suburbs. (One of them bought my old house in Wilsonville some years back! :-) )

Here's the cool part!

So where do Oregonians move to when they leave this state? #1 Washington state (28,905), #2 California! (25,374), #3 Arizona (7,224), #4 Ida-ho (7,136), #5 Utah (4,270)

Three Hunters--a Washingtonian, a Californian, and an Oregonian--were sitting around the fire after a long day of hunting. The Oregonian was happily taking draws from his bottle of Widmere, the Californian was sipping from a bottle of wine, and the Washingtonian, who had already downed two beers, was now drinking a 5th of Jack Daniels.

As they sat quietly drinking their respective alchohols, the Californian suddenly jumped up, threw his bottle of nicely aged wine straight up, drew his 9-millimeter, shot, and shattered the bottle in mid-air.

"Are you crazy?!" shouted the Oregonian, "That was an expensive bottle of wine, and it was still half full!"

"No problem," said the Californian, "We have plenty of that where I come from."

The Californian sat back down as his two companions thought this over.

Then, no more than a moment later, the Oregonian suddenly jumped up, threw the bottle of Beer into the air, drew his six-shooter pistol, shot, and shattered the bottle in mid-air.

"What did you do that for?!" complained the Californian, "There was still at least half a bottle of perfectly good Beer in there!"

"Don't worry," Said the Oregonian, "We have plenty of that stuff where I come from."

As he sat down, his two companions thought this over. Then, suddenly, the Washingtonian jumped up, chugged the remaining half of the 5th of Jack Daniels, drew his shotgun and shot the Oregonian.

"HEY!" Exclaimed the Californian. "What in the world did you shoot the Oregonian for?!"

"Simple," said the Washingtonian, "We have plenty of them where I come from, and besides, there was no use putting a damn good 5th of Jack to waste! Let's go..."
