Dang!

Well, here is the list of nut bags that do not understand our Constitution, and believe in Executive, as in "It's only against the law, if it's not the (P)resident doing it.", and who really don't grok what accountability really means and why it has mattered, since the framers.

Well, there you go. Probably one of the strongest cases for far more aggressive primary politics going forward. The moron percentage from both parties is really off the charts.

McCain: No
Obama: Yes
Clinton: Did not vote

Looks like it's up to the House now. I don't have high hopes here. Somewhere down deep, I think this is fear driven. Fear of political retribution, fear of getting roped in, fear of something.

It's extremely difficult for me to buy the idea of that much sheer ignorance.

"Clinton: Did not vote"

America: Why not?

This kind of paranoia driven legislation is so much like the witch-hunts of the 1950s. That erosion of our rights enabled madmen like J. Edgar Hoover to gain and hold godlike power over heads of government. Emboldened by a climate of fear, he created "Kremlin Jr." A few bad guys were found who may have been caught by legal means, and overall, America lost.

Those who do not learn from their mistakes...

No kidding.

I'm seriously disappointed at Clinton for that non-vote. It's a major negative for me.

At least Obama and McCain stepped up and voted their conscience.

Hillary was busy campaigning in Texas.

"She slipped into a “you all” and criticized Bush, the former Texas governor."

The only thing that matters to Hillary is Hillary.

I'm tempted to re-join the Democratic party just to vote against her. (I'm currently independent.)

And the only thing that matters to McCain is McCain. And the only thing that matters to Obama is Obama. And so on. What's your point?

Obama has missed important votes, too. So has McCain. These are all ambitious people, running for president, and will miss votes if they think they can get away with it. It's a bit unfair to claim one of them is more self-centered than the others.

Well for me, the weighting on this issue is pretty high.

It's the get outta jail card legislation. If we really are gonna get past all the crap this administration has pulled, passing this immunity won't help that along one bit.

And Clinton's vote didn't matter in this case. In the past she has shown where she stands by voting the right way on it. McCain, by contrast, missed an important vote last week in the Senate that prevented the Senate stimulus bill from being voted on; the Senate was one vote short of ending a filibuster, so his vote indeed counted.

This is why it's time for everyone to wake up and stop voting for Democrats because they dislike Republicans, and vice versa. Both are making too much money by the same people in order to give a rip about anyone but themselves. And people should also stop voting for Nader because they dislike both D's and R's. I don't think I need to explain this last one.

Andrew, your points are spot on, but I also understand why KSKD is so disappointed. This bill further hurts our chances of getting the truth and accountability we deserve. It also opens the door for some very shady sorts of activities.

I agree Newflyer. Partisanship and fingerpointing and division has achieved nothing. We will either move forward together, or die arguing.
