What is the motivation behind inaccurate playlist history? Do all stations do this? For example, during kgon's recent a-z run they insert an out of order song every couple hours. ie. monday 2/11 : playing songs that start with "U" : Unchain my heart joe cocker, then Eruption van halen, then back to U, uncle albert mccartney. i also noticed the playlist history will randomly leave a song completely off. a consistent computer glich or an intent diversion. my question whom are they concerned with tracking there song order?

Their only concern is selling advertising. Get real.

Probably somebody who thought that eruption started with a U and was spelled Uruption.

I believe that KGON never plays Eruption on it's own and has it double booked as "Unchained/Eruption". And yes their previous played list does have an occasional skip as do other stations.

where are you getting the playlist history? yes.com? I know they miss a lot of songs across several formats.

Yes.com has actually picked up ones that KGON's own last played list has not and somestimes the other way around. I think the automated log/logs just miss from time to time.

KGON's log only shows the songs they have played from their automation system. Songs that didn't show up on their own playlist are ones they played from the studio CD player and aren't loaded into their computer.

Hmmmm.....The first day of AtoZ I noticed at least four songs not in their list yet were in the list from yes.com. I doubt any track in that program got played from the CD player. Must be a Microsoft program doing the tracking!
