Mrs. Clinton seems to be milking the crying thing for all it's worth.

Knowing who she is, how she works and the timing, it's a tad hard to give her any benefit of the doubt...even though I might feel like doing the same thing, given the topic of wounded vets.

Try to keep it in your pants, and stop hoping that you'll get as big a rise out of people as you think you do/will.

We'll see who's crying on November 5, 2008.

(Resist the troll bait, people.)

Yea, resist it cause clearly you failed at it as usual.

I heard Rick Emerson making fun of her for this the other day. All I can say is that she will not be winning an Oscars any time soon.

She's obviously frantic in pulling out the crying card. I've heard plenty of women who were disgusted, because it makes Hillary look so conniving.

Somehow, I can't imagine Ghandi or Golda Meir crying, because someone said something bad about them. They might kick them in the balls, or send some big guy, to explain the situation. Like when someone said something about Harry Trumans daughter.

I am guilty of ambiguity Herb and you caught me dead to rights.

I didn't like Mc74s usage of the word bitch to descibe a senator of the US Government. I may have strong disagreements with our President but I do offer respect to the office he holds.

No kidding! Since when did this go from an open forum to the land of jock itch and cigars? C'mon, that old misogyny tune is not worthy of our time.

If Hillary is crying with the wounded from a war that she feels like shit for voting to approve, maybe it is further evidence that she is motivated in the right direction. Oh, but this isn't about her as a person, is it? Is she merely a persona filling in for mommy or all the women who scare you?

If you hate women, that is sad, but keep it to yourself. If you hate the fact that you do not have a woman, trashing all of those assembled is poor practice for reality. Temporarily breaking that pattern of lashing out for a cutie will not get you laid. Women know.

Tough guys and gals do not cry? Any Dad and Mom worth two damns cried at least a little when their kids were born. Any veteran who made it safely when so many others did not cried at least a little to be home.

This is a non-thread with non-answers to nonsense. Thanks to those who provided perspective or at least a laugh.

Herb, Okie, Mc4:

Would Ghandi, Mier, and Thatcher be "bitches" if they "kick(ed) them (detractors) in the balls"?

Or is it more "bitch"-like to "send some big guy" to do it for them?

(And I assume there will be tears, but most likely they will not be coming from the "bitches")

Chris-We agree that calling people swear words is not good.

Better to use words that accurately describe a particular unsavoury behaviour like 'power-hungry,' 'conniving' or 'mean-spirited.'

Those kinds of terms can apply to men or women.

I am no Hillary fan, but I would rather have a president who is willing to cry in public than one who gets joy in making others cry, ie, the Shrub.

And it is funny, that a crying Hillary is really the only thing folks like Herbster can keep attacking her for.

Trixter - Hillary in office, I am afraid, would mean MORE of the polarized America. There would not only be polarization with the Republicans, but I feel a big split in her own party. There seems to be one forming now in the Democratic party.

Based on that alone, Hillary would be bad news. Obama is the MUCH better choice.

We don't need anymore polarizing presidents!

The first incarnation of Bush and Clinton were actually not very divisive at all. The Republicans made it an issue when they went to impeach Bill Clinton when he stuck his hee-hee in Lewinsky's hoo-hoo. Clinton, in turn, did a fantastic job getting a lot done working with a Republican-led Congress.

Bush II has been one of the most polarizing figures in the history of our nation. Hillary will continue that path, just from the left instead of the right.

Is this what we all REALLY want?

I don't look back on Bush the 1st as a messy administration. Which left me wondering what Hillary meant about " It took a Clinton to clean up things after the first Bush - maybe it'll take another Clinton to clean up the second Bush." I mean...what? What mess from Bush the first?

She was just overly eager to use that line in a debate. And so she did. Yeah. Neat. Uhhh, what is she talking about?

Really? (and I mean about being as good of a President.)

I liked Bill Clinton. Didn't care about the sex thing --that was a personal transgression --a weakness that was played up way too much. However, as a President, he was a mix of good and bad.

Helped a lot people out. No question. His foreign policy efforts were solid too.

But, he did continue the move toward aggressive deregulation and signed off on pretty questionable legislation. (DMCA, etc...)

All in all, there is plenty of room for improvement. So, what puts Hilary Clinton behind the 8 ball here?

"So, what puts Hilary Clinton behind the 8 ball here?"

Bill Clinton seemingly took the high road when it came to mudslinging and that from the Republicans. When he was called out to the carpet after a largely dismal first two years in office after the Republican Revolution, he swore to work WITH them and he did in spades.

Hillary divides her own party in a lot of ways. How is she going to unite TWO parties in what is best for the United States of America?

"The Soviet economy and will was drained by that war."

Not quite. The Soviet Union was bankrupt in many ways. Read any book by Aleksandr Solzhenitzen who spent time in their gulags.

Mr. Reagan's Star Wars helped push them over the brink, as they knew they couldn't compete.
