I like to see what kinds of programs we get on local networks, since the regular shows can't be produced.

I guess we could start by putting reruns of shows like Bumpity, Ramblin' Rod, Oregon Field Guide, Town Hall, Faces & Places, Oregon Art Beat, Portland Wrestling, Jim Spagg, AM Northwest, and Ray Summers at Large back on our local channels.

Wild Kingdom, Portland Wrestling, Six Million Dollar Man, Squad 51, Dragnet, Wonder Woman, Chips, BJ and the Bear, The Love Boat, Growing Pains, Bionic Woman (original series), Incredible Hulk, and the best one, Gilligan's Island!

I heard somewhere that during the last strike in the 80s, the major networks lost 10% of their viewership and that 10% never returned. Makes me wonder a) why they would let the strike drag on like this in light of that statistic, and b) how much they'll lose this time.

Cops and America's Most Wanted were both created during tha last strike and look at those two shows mow! They are both firmly locked in the American conciousness of television history.

I had forgotten about the Phil Silvers show, that has to be the best comedy of all time!

And I knew a couple of NCO's that were exactly like the Bilko character over the years.

I had a top sergeant who bragged about using Monopoly money in Germany during the 50s, when scrip was being used.

I'm sure there are still some sergeants like that still serving. Every generation of the Army has sergeants like that and generals like Beetle Bailey's Halftrack.

That reminds me, Rin Tin Tin was also one of my favorites, as was the original Mighty Mouse....

I like the traditional sauce the best, but I do try others from time to time.

The way I make my sauce is:

1 Bottle of Franks Hot Sauce
1 Stick of butter

About 2 TBSP of White Vinegar

If you want to kick it up, add Cayenne Pepper!

I tried to visit Fire on the Mountain last Sunday, and the damn place was CLOSED due to the Superbowl!! Apparently they had too many take-out orders for wings? I didn't quite understand why they wouldn't let us in... there were only a few people inside.

Never a good idea to close to walk in traffic in favor of take-out order. But I can see the need if you are running a short crew. Try again sometime, the food is prett good. Hey, go for the in house hot wing record! 37 currently, can you top that?

Only 37? They must be massive wings cause that sounds like a feat that I could accomplish. And yes Darktemper you have met me and know of my size but I have very rarely ever been able to stuff myself in that way but it still seems like a feat I could accomplish or come real close. As long as you don't have to eat the garnish too that is.

I'll have to say since the Writers Strike, I'm watching more network television. I like the substitute programming. Keep it the way it is.
