It's still exit polls.

IMHO, this year is different enough, it's worth waiting for the results.

Still, nicely done for Obama.

Well Herb, you do the math. They hate the Clintons as much as you do. I would have been dumbfounded if she had won in Georgia.

Nice!

Seems I'm between snow falls. I actually would have enjoyed that, but thunderstorms --the real kind, are good too.

(goes to get coffee)

I'm spending this evening politicogeeked out! I've got the AAR stream, various web forums and sites up, and my micro controller hooked up.

Trying to fit one more sprite into a software video driver loop for a KABOOM! port to the Propeller.

Hey, it's a hotel room!

Crooks and liars has a nice auto-update table up. I'm avoiding Kos, for the sheer verbosity and noise factor. Might stream some traditional news and commentary later on. Depends.

Missing -- Walter Cronkite would have killed for a set-up like that in his day!

Great Lakes storms sound even better with some Gordon Lightfoot. When those clouds boil the waves, and it pours down, a hotel beats all heck out of a tent in Thunder Bay. I can testify to that fact. :0)

No kidding.

That's perspective for you.

(goes to www.gomusic.ru for some Gordo)

Don't know if it's in the forecast tonight, but last night had some great moments. Being in the wrong time zone, and only there for a few days, I just stay on mine and deal with slow mornings.

I really love weather when it demonstrates the power of nature. It creates a certain humility in all of us.

With only the first waves coming, this race is sure getting interesting.

Sure is.

Obama has a lot of momentum. There are also a lot of people requesting Democratic ballots.

Can't wait for the GOP analysis on that. Clearly the 23 percenters are holding their ground. If they weren't, we wouldn't be seeing the implosions from Pills, Mann, and others seeing the party fracture, like they see an oncoming migrane!

I also suspect the 23 percenters might be 25 percenters by now. Lots of pressure there to either be in, or out. The rest of the GOP is frustrated and not sure which Bush lite they want.

Their dilemma is, "none of the above".

The Democrats have the opposite problem; namely, "all of the above!".

Hilary and Obama are gonna be slugging it out nearly the whole way, barring some seriously dirty pool.

Edwards has 8 percent in some states!

Check that out!

And the networks are having to mention Ron Paul. Don't know why. Maybe it's because the other news is pretty damn grim and they need all the numbers they can get?

Might have a solution to the sprite problem. I think maybe duplicating one, with a simple offset, will get things done. We shall see here in about an hour or so.

(I code assembly language slowly.)

Me too on the weather. Ever since I was allowed, or could sneak out, I've spent time during intense and interesting weather events. One of the very best was a fairly warm rain and thunder. Stayed out for about an hour or two, in the middle of a pasture (yes I checked for patties), and just watched it all go by.

Dangerous, but I have to say, I felt very alive that evening. There is almost nothing like it.

I do not ever remember an election this splintered and frustrating for so many voters and for so many reasons.

NPR just declared Kansas for Obama.

Perhaps, we aren't in Oz anymore. :0)

NPR has declared the following states for Obama tonight:

  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Georgia
  • Alabama
  • Illinois
  • Kansas
  • Minnesota
  • Utah
  • Colorado
  • Idaho

It will be interesting how this shakes down. In the mathematical labyrinth that is the Democratic primary system, one candidate could win more states, but not win the majority of delegates.

Yep. There is gonna be "we won" messages all around.

Number of states, delegates, turnout by demographic, greatness of speech, momentum, improvement, whatever.

What's the general Dem turnout, compared to prior events. Been looking for that, and not seeing it.

From what little I have heard, even in places with ice, snow and tornadoes, the turnout has been very good.

NPR has just projected the Last Frontier for Obama.

So, now that the official speculation part is over, and the real counting and grokking begins.

I gotta say, of all the many speeches I saw tonight, I was really impressed by Barak Obama.

(BTW, "grokking" is spell check approved.)

Add: NPR is now saying that Missouri is "too close to call" and it might end up going to Obama.
