but, http://rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presiden tial_election/john_mccain_match_ups/election_2008_mccain_vs_clinton_and_obama A McCain campaign, unless he makes a big mistake, would probably beat either of the Demo nominees, and retake congress for the republicans, and continue most of President Bush's policies.

I hope for nothing more than McCain to win the nomination while promising to continue all the Bush policies.

Right, and early polls in 2000 showed Bush winning more votes than Gore which was wrong - Gore got 500,000 more. I think Obama would have a better shot at McCain than Clinton would. McCain looks and is old, a link to the past. Clinton is a link to the past, too, although she seems more youthful. Obama looks like the future, plus he is appealing to a surprising number of Republicans. I think Americans are ready to move forward from the Bush years. Republicans won't be re-taking the Senate in 2008 - more likely they will lose a few more seats. Republican strategists must be very worried about the fact that in the primaries, Democratic turnout has been overwhelming while Republican turnout has been very lackluster. Their candidates are not raising as much money as the Dems, either. It's quite hard to imagine the Republicans taking over anything in 2008 although a presidential race is more a race between people not just parties, so you never know. We'll also have to see if a viable 3rd-party candidate will jump into the 2008 presidential race. Andrew

check the turnout in florida, the republicans had far more voters. And if the Demos refuse to seat the Florida and Michigan delegates, that will really hurt the demos in the general election.

Or McCain in his military uniform, against Obama in his. Wait, Obama never served. Or McCain in pictures with His Dad and Grandfather in their uniforms, and Obama with his dad and grandfather in uniforms, wait, they didn't serve either. Heck they wern't even US citizens. Or comparing laws McCain sponsered, and saw written into law, compared with the laws Obams sponsered and were written into law, wait, Obama doesn't have any laws he sponsered written into law. Compare McCaoins accomplishments with Obama's, for one you would need a book, for Obama a short paragraph would suffice.

Whatever. The best weapon in defeating McCain will be linking him with WPE.

Got to admit nwokie is giving us waaaaay too much fodder. I simply don't know which one to have fun with. A good Stephen Wright one liner would suffice.
