"...as the practice of voice-tracking expands across the dial and across the industry..."

I know they're a little behind the times in Hawaii - but I didn't know they were ten years behind. The practice isn't "expanding" - it's SOP across the industry.

About the only thing "new" is that on some stations, the AM drive show is now voicetracking PM drive on the same station.

So former KSSK middayer Chris Peters moves to another station in the cluster... Quoting VP/GM Chuck Cotton in the article here: "He was doing 10 (a.m.) to 3 (p.m.) on KSSK-AM," said Cotton.

Peters, who has been at Clear Channel for eight years, is now "producing the Mike Buck show (on KHVH-AM 830) and has an air shift on Sundays so there's sort of a promotion in there for him," Cotton said.

To which I say, "OH???" Six days a week? Sounds like a serious case of "Island Fever" to me...

BULLROAR!!!

I have a friend that has lived on the Islands for years now. He is a consulting broadcast engineer. He has told me that Hawaii in some respects has lagged behind the mainland in programming and engineering methods that are now common practise otherwise. Probably due to a somewhat proprietary and closed society, there, well used to doing things one way for a very long time.
