I know, I know; You know.

But here's a new level. So my son had his birthday party at our house today. Daddy doesn't do great with 25 kids under the age of 7 in the house at the same time - but hey. It's my son's bday. I'll buck up. But the deal is that I get to have football on the TV in the background - since, you know, San Diego plays New England today ( even though I could have sworn it was on tomorrow. I've been wrong before though ). So I'm watching the game on NFL HD when someone realizes that I am watching the replay of SD in NE from earlier this season ( even though I do not - and am confused ) and wants to bet me on the result. I finally realized that the reason I am seeing night shots of Foxboro is that this is when the game was filmed. I am not watching a live game.

I lost 10 bucks.

That's freaking classic!

Thanks for sharing that. Bummer on the game though.

Chickenjuggler, that was a hall of fame sucker bet.

Andrew, Matt Holliday still doesn't know if he touched home plate either, but sorry... the Friars... I mean, hey... would you take a bet on the Red Sox to win against San Diego in the World Series?

Well I don't know which was worse; Betting against The Pats in the first place or betting against them in the replay.

Children take reason and turn it into steam. You were not of sound mind. I know a guy. We'll get that ten bucks back.

Yeah, landed on the moon if you mean a Hollywood film set. OJ landed on Mars, too. Didn't he?

Sadly, Sam the Butcher from the Brady Bunch has passed on today. I sure hope he took Porkchops and Applesauce to Tiger.

He was also the voice of Magilla Gorilla.

Chickenjuggler- note to self. "Sons 8th birthday: No more than 8 kids allowed, with parental help"

I busted a few stitches reading your story.

Littlesongs: I still love Capricorn One. Saw it while I was working as a Jr High church leader in Richland, Washington when I was 21. Time to check it out at the library and watch it with my kids.

Chris -- The best part about Capricorn One is the fact that I first saw it on laserdisc. Disturbing and dumb, like Westworld, but the camp factor still saves many titles for me.

Mrs. Merkin -- A moment of silence for Allan Melvin is totally appropriate. Many of my favorite actors are character players and he was one of the greatest.

Ahh... laserdisc! Sweet tech. Saw Tron that way too.

(for Allan Melvin)

Kid parties can be adventures! I once foolishly agreed to my daughters soccer team staying over. That's 14 (freaking 14!) girls over, restless, and active for the evening.

I found popcorn in corners until the day I moved out of that small house.

At two in the morning, I entered the bedroom, to music and dancing on the bed! They just could not sleep -chatter, chatter, giggle, poke, chatter, giggle, straight through until morning.

Bathroom hammered, every blanket used, pillows everywhere, popcorn, and the GLITTER! (safety tip: ban the glitter for big sleep overs)

Great kids! Just too many of them for one Dad to deal with. Mrs. KSKD knew exactly what was going to happen. I know she did.

Well as it so happens today is my son's birthday party (actual birthday is Thursday)

5 boys (12 yrs old) all over at Wunderland in NE Portland. 10 bucks to get them in, give each $5 to spend and then they can bring their own money if they wish. Give them an hour and half to play, pick them up, home for dessert and gifts and done.

Lean, clean and easy. I feel so smart.

CJ -- I hope you didn't go double or nothing! Without LT, the Chargers could not rush and lost 21-12. Is this the CFL or what?!

Missing KSKD -- Girls grow up to be women who like glitter too much. I once had a silly argument with the head of an indie label who wanted me to put glitter and whatnot in radio promos. It took far too long to explain what opening that package in a booth might do.

Littlesongs: They certainly would never forget who sent that! Disaster! Was she blonde, too?

Good thing for the Pats...do not mention Green Bay to me for now. I can't even discuss what I lost!

So true Little. (and I'm not complaining)

Hilarious story on the glitter! Hey, what about that cool confetti? Get the non'metallic kind, with lots of shapes and colors. The bigger sizes will just clutter --not damage.

I've noted this is currently a hot thing to do with cards. Do the card, in the usual way, then sprinkle in paper goodies of various shapes, sizes, etc...
