Are all the Portland stations using their uhf dtv signals now? Sometimes when i tune over channel 14 i get the uhf like ch. 27 redirect to ch. 7. Can i get just a uhf outdoor antenna only now? I read Kpxg will be dtv channel 22 next February. i need a 40-50 foot mast to strap to a post because i can't attach to the building. I want to see if i can get all local dtv channels without playing with the indoor antenna all the time!

The lineup right now appears to be: KATU-2 is Digital-43 KOIN-6 is Digital-40 KGW-8 is Digital-46 KOPB-10 is Digital-27 KPTV-12 is Digital-30 KRCW-32/5 is Digital-33 KPBX-49 is Digital-48 KNMT-24 is Digital-45 KXPG-54/22 is Digital-4 (with construction permit for 42) But when the analog stations are turned off in about a year, some VHF stations (mostly high-band) will return to their old analog channels for the digital transmission... Don't throw away that VHF antenna yet!

Go for the VHF-UHF antenna; put a splitter on it, and you can use it to receive FM broadcast, too. What a deal!

That's what I do! I also used to have an amplifier on my aerial until about a year ago, but I threw it away because it actually made reception worse......was pretty noisy. When I would connect it to my police scanner tuned to somewhere in the Aircraft frequencies (108-136? MHz) I would always hear this loud, droning hummmmmmmmmmmmm all across the band. Made all the digital channels break up too. Funny thing; reception is way better without that POS amp..........
