Check this out!

It would be awesome to have something like this. Especially if you could actually fly it above traffic.

Can you see the look on someones face when, stuck in traffic on I-5, you just took off and flew above all the cars!!

While I like the idea, there are a whole lot of technoligical problems that would have to be solved, such as traffic control. Most areas prohibit flight below a certain level etc.

Great find Bill! Washington seems to be the spot for great ideas in airborne commuting. The legendary Aerocar is from Longview and is celebrating 50 years!

Hope it was not a dead-beat bidder.

You know given the age of that thing and the lousy test flight record you would think that with the introduction of a modern flight stabilization system it could become a useable vehicle. It would sure be cool to be stuck in traffic then lift off and fly over it. Talk about being the source of rubber-necking! With today's advances in electronics and computer technology you would probably be able to reduce the vehicles weight substantially.

Are you kidding DT. I think many people want to be stuck in traffic. Today's new vehicles are so electronically pimped it's probably the highlight of their day.

DT, I don't think it could be. You had to be a "pre-approved" bidder before you could bid.
