It's 51 degrees according to my weather station here in Vancouver! And the sun is out (right now anyway!)

Looks like it's going to be real cold towards the end of the month!

Those boobs on TV haven't got much right lately...I'll believe it when I open the door and see it. Or fall down the steps.

Well, the falling down on the steps could be due to other things as well, that's not a very good barometer for you to use! HA

..."Those boobs on TV"

Seems like an odd place for your boobs. My cat lies on the TV because it's warm. Are your Boobs cold?

Back to the weather thread:

A tornado touched down in Vancouver today in the Hazel Dell area.

I ate lunch at Izzy's today in Hazel Dell on 78th ... I get up, pay the bill, and go to the bathroom. While sitting there on the throne, the power flickers then goes out and I hear what sounds like all the pots and pans in the place hitting the floor at the same time, with some gasps and a couple of screams out in the dining area. I get done and step out as the power comes back on ... and it is hailing HARD outside. I step out and see part of the roof at Clark County Title next door is gone and laying in the parking lot and the newspaper vending machine at Izzy's is sitting on the hood of the car in front of it, and someone tells me that a tornado passed directly over us. The sound I heard was it taking off part of Izzy's roof.

I drove down 78th towards St. Johns as the intersection at Hwy. 99 was backed up (it blew a car into the middle of the intersection) .. whole trees up and down 78th and the big billboard sign next to Carol's Corner Cafe was literally twisted in half like a pretzel. Most amazing thing I've ever seen.

I kept driving, wondering where the trailer park was and who there pissed God off?

What is it with Vancouver and tornados? Seems like they get hit every ten years or so.

Doesn't sound like anyone was hurt, but what a mess!

hah as my ex-wife said, it's MY fault it hit. God mistook the RV parked in my driveway as a single-wide needing a lift.

Sorry for the mess, folks. I take full responsibility.

One of the weather people said that this part of Vancouver can become a little tornado alley with the right conditions.

There is a trailer park mere blocks from izzys. Just up the street to the south. The one that has the bullseyes on the roofs.

If I see any more pix/news/stories of that boathouse, I'm going to barf like WPE after a bag o'blow, 47 beers and a few tequila shots at a Skull & Crossbones function!

@ Skybill: Barbara Bush's Boobs are WAAAAY bigger than poor ol' Lillian's could ever hope to be. Her famous pearl necklace diversion doesn't fool anyone. (I could add more about that, but won't)

@ BrianL: Izzy's? IZZY'S? Good Lord! I hope that you were just there to plug up the throne!

@ Roger & DT:My boobs are never cold. That would make them perky. I could store wet bras in the freezer and it wouldn't help. They will never ever be perky again after Baby M.

One of my favorite birthday cards (from my Mom!) is a guy with a "Show Me Your Tits" T-shirt standing next to an old lady at the bus stop. On the inside of the card she is pulling up her skirt.

I was lucky enough to be in school at Sarah J. Anderson in Hazel Dell when the last serious tornado leveled Peter S. Ogden. I was in 2nd grade and it was very scary. We hid in the halls and waited for our parents.

At Peter S. Ogden, a woman who worked at the bowling alley nearby went to help guide kids to safety and had made a few trips when a wall fell on her and killed her. She was a true hero of the day. Her son, Rick Graser, went on to graduate from Fort Vancouver HS and join the pitching staff of the Seattle Mariners.

True about Vancouver and tornados. In 1972, one rolled through killed six, injured 300. Perhaps that was the same one mentioned above?

As for the rest of this winter...I've read forecasts that the mild eastern US weather will be ending, which probably means the west will warm a bit.

What's weird about the 72 tornado is that the day before right out of the blue I asked my mom if we would ever got any tornado's in Vancouver. Was 8 at the time. The next day after that tornado blew threw I sure got a strange look.

Paul: it was the '72 tornado I was talking about. I should have been more specific :-)

DT: We were studying weather, cloud types and things like that, and had been outside earlier that day identifying clouds with our teacher. We learned alot about tornadoes during the next few days! I remember going to recess and looking out for tornadoes in every cloud for quite a while after that.

Our house was undamaged, but I did watch our lawnchair fly off into the distance back in 1972. I then hopped on my bike and went for an amazing bike ride checking out the storm's aftermath.
