Houglum spent most of his career at KLOO in Corvallis. He also worked in Eugene and was involved in putting KIHR (Independent Hood River) on the air in 1950. |

I met Bob in 1970 when I attended OSU. He was another who influenced me to pursue a career in broadcasting. He will be missed. |

I met Bob in 1980 when I came to work at Kloo as P.D. What a pro! He simply knew how to connect with his audience unlike anybody I've ever known. With their "Toast and Coffee" show, Bob Houglum and Pat Lafferty owned the airwaves every Monday-Friday from 8am to 10am. The world is a lesser place without Bob Houglum. Rest in peace, my friend. |

I usually avoide these memorial pages like the plague, but I must echo Larry's sentiments. While at KLOO/KFAT in the early 80's, I found Bob to be not only the conusmate professional, but a huge resource to "young-un's" in the business. He taught me a great deal about how to relate one on one with thousands at a time over the air. Rest in Peace, Bob, you will be sorely missed. |
