I have heard that there are two more Spanish FM's coming to Portland. One of them will be "La Raza", and another one from Clear Channel.
Does anybody know anything about this?

Ditto.....Jay_zie where did you hear this. La Raza from LA? I don't think SBS would come up here and as far as Liberman who uses the moniker also wouldn't do it either.

This sounds about as likely as KXPC going Spanish at this point.

I read it in a spanish board.
As far as I understand there are other companies that use "La Raza" brand name for their spanish stations. I believe Univision has a few La Raza stations. I've also read "La Preciosa", which is a Network owned by CC is a likely possibility.
I think it would be nice to have more Spanish FM options in Portland. I personally don't like "El Piolin". Neither do I like the rest of El Rey's programming. I think most latinos-hispanics like to hear live DJs. I don't care much for VTs. I'd rather program my iPod with tunes of my choice than listening to a station with no local content.

Jay_zie...Univision doesn't have a station called La Raza. Also Clear Channel isn't doing very well with La Preciosa in many of their markets. Some markets have decent ratings but haven't turned it into a money maker and that is with going 100% satellite which is pretty sad. I think if some of the other stations make the appropriate adjustments they could be just fine. In the case of 1040 they were doing pretty well before the FM and I think if they made a slight change like getting a new AM guy they could make a decent run even without an FM. He hasn't changed his style with the times.

Davis Media has some "La Raza" Stations. Liberman also has "La Raza" Stations.
As far as I know, any station can use that slogan.

Read previous what I wrote about Liberman. And as far as Davidson media which I think that is what you meant they don't have a station called La Raza.

Couldn't the owners of Jammin name their station "La Raza"? or anyone else?

I haven't been able to find any examples of "La Raza" used as a registered trademark. Thus, this term could be used by anyone as a radio station monicker. Hey, maybe they could use it on 1010AM.

It depends on what Liberman or SBS has done with the naming/registration. Since both use it. In LA Liberman used Que Buena. La Raza is usually tied to one of those two companies. I personally don't care for the name too much. It has a stereotype vibe to it. Like it should have a Jalapeņo as part of its logo. Pretty ghetto Regional Mexican style.

It appears local but it's Voice Tracked from 10am to mid night.
Try calling them during those hours.
