I find Randy annoying not because she's smart but because she drifts frequently into hyperbole and conspiracy theory. A smart woman on the radio I DON'T find annoying? Rachel Maddow. She seems to "get it" pretty well. |

I think we agree. Those are exactly the things that annoy me about Randi. PITA really. A little less of that and it would all be golden. Love the passion though. It shows, if jaded at times. |

I agree, Andrew. As soon as I hear Randi open her mouth, I'm gone. But, as somewhat of a conservative, I actually can listen to Rachel for extended periods! I may disagree with much of what she says, but I still find her intelligent and agreeable, and often funny! |

With Randi, you can catch her show for 5 minutes and get the entire gist of her point(s), but then I have to bail on her because of her presentation style and hyperbole. Rachel is maturing nicely as a progressive voice, who came across as a little "above" her audience at first, but has developed a common voice that connects with the listener well. And she's doing better and better on TV too - she visually and aurally gets your attention. Combine that with her youthfulness and she is clearly an up-and-comer in progressive media. I just hope she doesn't get bored with it and do a career shift too soon. |

The main thing that drive me nuts about Randi is that she has the facts, and she has the smarts to eviscerate the callers that call in to argue with her. |

Actually I like tl listen to Rhodes, she is so funny. She thinks if she says something louder, it makes it more right. And she is so afraid of any argument, she cuts it off. |

Mark Levin anyone? I find him quite amusing sometimes. At first I thought he was a put-on like Phil Hendrie, but apparently, he's serious. He sounds like a caricature of a liberal's idea of a right-wing talk show host. Sometimes I laugh out loud at him. |

Lars Larsen does that now? Wow, I guess I haven't listened in a while. |

Of course, the screeners of these shows are good at picking callers whom they know the host can easily demolish. Many callers are really green not very skillful at arguing their points with an polished talk show host. I'd love to see these talk show hosts debate in a neutral environment where they don't control anything. I recall seeing Al Franken demolish Bill O'Reilly a few years ago at some event and Franken reminding him it wasn't his show so he couldn't tell people to shut up... |

I saw that, and thought that O'Reilly demolished himself. |
