KOUG is Vancouver's first College station based in the city. The stations studios are located at Washington State Univ., 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave. KOUG began in August 2007 broadcasting over the internet but wants to get on the air on 580AM most likely carrier current. The station plays mostly Alternative music. The KOUG calls stand for WSU's cOUGars. Checkout their website:

And yes Roger what a game this is shaping up to be. Sister Mary Elephant, the all parish nose guard, is meaner than Satan himself. She's gonna be a tough ol' bird to stop for sure!

And on the other side of the ball, Blind Melon Chitlin is well known for his offensive tactics!

Better yet...
Announcer: "Welcome to Flint, Michigan, for the 2007 American Standard Toilet Bowl!"
Ha ha... just kidding! :-)

I was almost going to jokingly post 'the 580 thing makes me think this looks sorta like a new X58...' then visited the website... logo seems fairly inspired... looked at the staff picture... wait a minute... any other former X58ers out there that see any faces/names that look familiar?

BTW, the campus is actually in unincorporated Clark County... in the Vancouver Urban Growth Boundary, yes, but not Vancouver proper.

KUGR are the calls of one of the WSU stations in Pullman. In the old days (my days) it was a carrier current station with the radiating wires strung through the steam tunnels connecting the dorms which had their own distribution wiring. I helped the engineers restring the distribution network in the tunnels (cough, wheeze).

Nowadays KUGR is at 95 on your cable FM dial in Pullman. And you can stream them from your very own abode anywhere on the Good Planet Earth!

Let's hope the yungin's in Salmon Creek do the business proud.
