I'm not asking for whom you'll vote. I'm asking who you think the ticket and the winner will be. For Democrats, I say Clinton/Obama. For Republicans, I say Giuliani/McCain. Democrats win by a larger margin than Bush did. Those are my picks.

CJ, Based on current polling, your Dem ticket looks accurate (but wouldn't be my choice) I don't think McCain wants to be the bridesmaid, especially since this is his second run at the presidency. I'm going to say Giuliani/Kerek.

Democrats: Hillary/White Guy (perhaps Biden; not Edwards) Republicans: Rudy/Mike Huckabee I'm starting to change my mind about Rudy not being able to win the nomination because he's too liberal. Republicans are so afraid of Hillary that it seems they'll support a pro-choice, pro-gay, pro-gun-control liberal Republican who talks tough on terror to avoid Hillary. But, they do need a balance candidate to appease the fundamentalists. Huckabee has that appeal plus he's from the south, and he's impressing a lot of people lately. Hillary won't want Obama because another minority on the ticket is too strong a departure from tradition; nominating a woman is as much of the envelope as the Dems will want to push it. To balance her they'll want an establishment White Guy like Joe Biden, who is smart on terrorism. Then again, that's two senators on one ticket. Perhaps Hillary will find a strong white governor who would help her in a state in which she is now weak. But, that's all speculation - I still haven't written off Obama and Edwards to beat Hillary for the nomination. Andrew

My prediction for white guy pairing with Hillary would be Richardson, but he's not really white. Given a choice, I would put Biden on the ticket with Hillary. As for the Republicans, geez, I know I wrote Thompson off earlier this week, but somehow he might help pull some of the "Hollywood" vote if he was on the ticket with Giuliani. Romney and the others will add nothing to the ticket since their base will NEVER vote for the Democrat slate. As for the winner, it'll be Hillary of course, not even close enough for the GOP to do fuzzy vote counting.

Hillary/Biden? When this ticket is mentioned over and over in the news, will it be pronounced like "Hillary bidin' her time" or like "Hillary bitin' your butt?" Prediction? I predict that money has the best shot, so Hillary Clinton, Michael Bloomberg and Rudy Giuliani will probably be in the mix. Truth is, I find it all rather depressing.

Littlesongs said; ......Truth is, I find it all rather depressing. As I've said before, and I truly believe it, this will be the first time we don't actually pick who we vote for as being the best for the country. We will choose who is the least bad for us.

Except for his 'pro-choice' stance, I like Richardson. He actually DOES have international experience, having negotiated with the dastardly North Koreans. And as a governor, he's the only democrat candidate with executive experience. Fact is, many of our presidents were governors. Herbert Walker Bush Nixon

The "first time we don't actually pick who we vote for as being the best for the country. We will choose who is the least bad for us." Are you kidding? I feel that way about 98% of the votes I've cast for politicians. I can't think of anyone I've actually liked or felt was worth supporting. (Maybe Blumenauer?)

Don't you folks think Giuliani has too much baggage now with his old friend indicted, his womanizing that makes Bill Clinton seem like a choir boy and his past pro-choice support? If the true conservative side of the Republican takes over like they did with the election of Bush, Rudy does not stand a chance. I think Huckabee and Romney are more in line with what the Republicans can live with. McCain is so in lock step with Bush, he has no chance of even winning a primary. Fred Thompson might have had a chance if he had started sooner. Of course, Rudy still remains the only one out of the group who would have a chance of beating Hillary.

Perhaps. But if terrorists sabre-rattle prior to the elections, a 'hardline against terror' candidate like McCain or even Mr. Giuliani could be a shoe-in. Overall, and especially when terror isn't a primary [pardon the pun] focus, I agree with you that Huckabee is more in line with the Republican base than most of the others. Herb

Romney killed his chances: COLUMBIA, South Carolina (CNN) – At an invitation-only meeting held Tuesday with students, faculty and alumni of the fundamentalist Bob Jones University, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney put aside questions about his Mormon faith and focused instead on what he described as his shared values with Christians, according to an audio recording of the meeting obtained by CNN.

No Seriously I am pulling these predictions straight from my you know what... Around Memorial Day weekend media (even Fox) will be all saying that Hillary is a lock for not only the Dem nom but also the presidency. Meanwhile on the GOP side of things they are getting both nasty and interesting. The entire GOP will be literally spliting at the seams with two camps emerging. Guilani and Romney both spliting the (yes I am serious) the religous right votes and those that are fed up. Ron Paul will emerge as the #3 in the race for the GOP nod but right before the convention will officially announce his resignation as a card carrying member of the GOP and instead of returning to his roots as a former Libertarian presidential canidate will announce his run for the presidency as a true independent with both money and a respected platform. Then around the last week of June the rumors start to fly about a 4th of July press conference. Then come 4th of July during Primetime the big announcement comes.... Al Gore finally announces his run for the White House. So it comes down to late August and the Democratic Convention in Denver. It ends up being very heated with sparring between those supporting Gore and those supporting Clinton. Finally though Gore wins the nomination and announces Barack Obama as his running mate. A week later in St Paul it is a total love fest as the "new" GOP nominates a ticket of Guilani and Romney. The love fest that is the supposed "new" and "improved" GOP provides much fodder for the finally returning Hollywood writers. The whole convention will go down as one of the greatest jokes in the history of American history. Then on the independent side of things America finally has what some feel is the most improtant presidential campaign change in our history with Ron Paul getting strong endorsements from politcians, musicians, filmmakers, movers and shakers, but most importantly seemingly an across the board endorsement by the disenfranchised of America former Gop'ers and Dems. The debates are some of the most constructive ever and there is seemingly a great dialouge throughout America. In the end though Al Gore and Barack Obama emerge as victors. Ok yeah so I pulled all that from my arse!

Craig I thought the capital was going to be Omaha not Denver. Opps I forgot about all the "Concentration Camp" conspiracies regarding the "not so new" Denver Airport. But in all seriousness I don't have a problem with Hillary but instead would rather see/predict Obama as the eventual victor. I do think my piece of fiction post above is close to right on!

I will vote for the TRUE Republican. The EXTREMEIES on BOTH sides will not get my vote. McCain with his LOCK-STEP DUHbya views is an INSTANT NO! and Hillary of course is a BIG NO! I'm waiting until June. Let's see who's still standing 6 months before the election. And don't forget Osama will come out of hiding again for the EXTREME RIGHT. OCTOBER SURPRISE.... DUHbya's last swan song.
