Just heard Bruce Springsteens new single on Charlie this evening. The song rocks and I'm glad Charlie is playing it since these foolish people at Cheap Channel wont play the single. CHARLIE ROCKS!!!

Thats why I love Charlie, they play great music! Thank you charlie for playing it. I think Charlie is by far the best station in Portland. THe music is sounding sooooo good! I just hope they start adding more live air talent to the statiion. I just can't see Kool getting any ratings. The music is stale, I tried giving it a chance but I'm so bored with their music selections.

Lawrence Welk reruns are shown on OPB, but that's a Catch 22 dilemma for you.

There are a couple of internet sites with Mr Welks shows on them, I ocasionally watch one or two. He had good musicians. Us rednecks can have a little class too. And lets not forget that really classical musical show, Hee Haw, with Buck and roy.

I didn't like Lawrence Welk the tv show. I like "Live" big band, not taped and lip synched for television show. And now i notice how perfect each band member, singer and dancers are so perfectly groomed and beautful! My parents were country music liisteners, so we got to watch Hee Haw!

Lawrence Welk, lipsynched? You must be confusing him with Lloyd Thaxton! That's OK; it's a common mistake.

A friend of mine sang on the Lawrence Welk show. He's got that Dick Clark chromo zone. He looks the same today as he did back in the day.

When did Charlie adjust its format? I just assumed they were still doing the same thing, mostly music from the last 20 years with older material thrown in here and there. Now, they seem to be mostly 80s with a liberal amount of 70s, 90s and today, pretty much in that order, a near-competitor of K103. Maybe they wanted to step out of the direct line of fire from The Buzz!

>>He's got that Dick Clark chromo zone. He looks the same today as he did back in the day.<< Is that why he looks better in color than in B&W? (I think you meant chromosome, note chromo zone).

Yup Charlie is sounding pretty damn good. I love the Random request hours they have. The station fits me well because I like a little of everything. I love hearing Johnny Cash followed by Guns N Roses followed by Stevie Wonder. Keep up the great Work Charlie, the station is sounding AWESOME! The new Bruce Springsteen song sounds great.

Kool's numbers for the first book were pathetic! Infact they droped in the ratings. The sad part is, Cheap channel will invest no money into the station to bring the ratings up. Kool is too similar to K-hits and Charlie, except they are lacking the variety of music. They sound like a second rate K-hits. This was not a smart move for Cheap Channel. They are trying to take on not one but TWO established stations. NOT SMART!

Or, Kool 105-9 could be simply 'flanking' 97.1 and 106.7 to draw just enough listeners away so that other CC stations come out ahead.
