Glad you enjoyed it, I had a blast doing it. I've kept the music log for reference next year, if we do it again. The song You're talking about was likely "As The Years Go By" by Mashmakhan. |

This kind of thing is what makes K-Hits the best music station in Portland. The have passion for the programming. |

I still have the Dark Shadows theme stuck in my head. (My sister was a big fan of that show.) I don't suppose K-Hits has a copy of "Quentin's Theme" by the Charles Randolph Grean Sounde. |

I only have "The Witch" on an LP and our turntable is down at the moment, so it was not played. It'll have to be on our next adventure into Spooky music. |

How long was this Halloween segment? Sounds like great radio.. |

It wasn't a segment within the hour. The show was a five hour music program. "Bad Moon Rising", "Black Magic Woman" that kind of stuff, interwoven with the standards like "The Purple People Eater". |

As I said in another thread, it was great radio. I bet that Brad Dolbeer was a good partner in the music research. Iron Butterfly had to end the show and The Fifth Estate was awesome too. |

Yes! I was thinking the same thing earlier in the month. Brad has, dare I say "decades" in AOR music. Between the two of us, we did our best to cover all the bases. |

randy...my copy of the Sonics came from the drummer's cousin when I was in school in Ashland...that poor record has suffered through many parties! |

Remember on Darkshadows Quinton was the werewolf, Barnabas was the vampire. I liked that old show,at least for about 2 years, then it got really weird. |

Sirius channel 14 or 16 will play it continuously for the whole day! Or at least they have for the last 2 Thanksgivings. |

Yep, we play "Alice's Restaurant" a couple of times at least on Thanksgiving. It's a holiday tradition! |

A tradition started by KINK, was it not? |

I think it was KINK as well. Is there anyone who can confirm when was it first played locally on Thanksgiving? We could have been among the first cities to have done it. |

I think it's been a Thanksgiving tradition at many radio stations since the release of the song in 1967 which was 7 years before KGON was launched. I remember hearing it on KLRB or KRML in Carmel in the late 60's. It's just a good radio tradition for everyone. |

Finally remembered to ask if we'll will be playing Arlo Guthie's "Alice's Restaurant". Yes, I'll be playing it Thanksgiving night but it should played two other times on K-Hits before me. |
