Last night we went out and did an appearance for Halloween, I filmed the whole thing, and edited it up this morning in 2 hours. If a radio show could do this for clients.... is that something that a sales department could sell???

It seems like a very NEW, COOL thing that you could attach to an "appearance." Then the company can put it on their website, along with the station... and everybody wins.

Plus... if I can do all the editing and filming myself.... that's WAY cheap!

Anyways, I'd just like some feedback from people in sales. Well, anybody can give feedback... I'm just wondering if this could be sold?

I'm thinking there's no doubt that a sales department could find a way to sell it. We did some videos for our Halloween show as well, but I don't think they were sold.

I'm thinking that there's going to be a lot of focus on the Web in the coming months in radio (at least with CBS), so I'll bet it won't be long before an enterprising salesperson will come to YOU and ask about it...

First, not bad editing in that short period of time.

From an AE's perspective the question needs to be asked, can money be generated for the station? Maybe to probably not yet.

However, you could include the "Video ReCap" in annual presentations for clients as a feature that the "Station" will do for the client. Which may get you the larger share of money spent in the market.

Another idea is an AE selling :30 to :60 video spots on the stations website. Again can it be generating money or will it be a "bonus" to the money already spent by the client? Kinda like free spots 5a-1a!

Overall, we are moving in this direction. How it will it weave in, will be determined by those who do it first!
