What could have been resolved with a simple phone call on Monday from the Sam Adams Beer folks developed into an international story.

Remember the original "Sam Adams" John Adams cousin, he trained his dogs to bite anyone wearing red. He was livid, when his cousin defended the British soldiers involved in the Boston Massacre, and won an acquital for them.

Maybe Mark and Dave can work some kind of tie-in with Mt. Adams. May take some creative thinking but I know those boys are up for it.

From the Mark & Dave BREW-HAHA page:

"The infamous "LETTER" sold on E-Bay for $1475.90! (Jim Hopkins of Accent Verticals bought the now historic letter, and lunch with Commissioner Adams and Mark & Dave.) That's not all: Then the KEX General Manager Robert Dove matched it! Total: $2951.80! Wow! Every penny going to the KEX Kids Fund to buy hearing aids and glasses for needy children. Thank you for your support!"

Few stations in the country can boast a yearly fundraiser like this one. Can you believe this is the 20th year it has been on the Mighty Eleven-Ninety? This kind of involvement is just part of what makes local radio so special, and quite frankly, really damn important.

The Needy Kids Fund is a great charity. Bob Miller should be congratulated for starting such a great cause way back when. Kudos to KEX for keeping the charity going after Bob left the station.

There are two charities I make sure to donate money to every year. They are Bob Miller's Operation Santa Claus at KPAM and the Needy Kids Fund at KEX. I donate to them because they are both great causes and I know the money stays in our area.
